I play around with fruity loops and enjoy making little tunes. Growing up, I was more influenced by Dre type beats, west-coast flavor per-sē. I am no-where near advanced, I don't play around with much effects, just simple melodies .

I've been a professional musician for over 40 years (I just did the math and am quite shocked by this number).
Finally took a "day-job" a few years ago and haven't performed lately. Mostly practicing jazz/swing standards. Started sequencing in the early nineties till my equipment became painfully obsolete and bands had no use for that. Still played, though.
Did a bunch of session work Eighties & Nineties and wrote a few jingles; sold a few.
Didn't mean to compose a resume. Just wanted to give a little background.
Can't say that I make music, right now, but flatter myself to think that I can still rise to the occasion. Anything that I might compose, I'm sure, would not sound remotely contemporary.
As for effects, I'm careful with their use. Still like to brag that I was ahead of Dave Gilmore in the applications of an Echoplex...burned up a lot of tape and heads, though. Loved the Univox tape echo which allowed a lot of real time manipulation.
As is often the case, the Bourbon would let me go on in a stream-of-conciouness but will stop here.

If thereīs one thing i stink at then itīs things like music, painting, artistic stuff. I have no talent when it comes to artistic things.
If i like something and put my mind to it i usually can do most things. Either you have a talent for it or you dont. Hard to learn, difficult to master, impossible for the likes like me to ever be over apprentice level. All attempts at it have failed!
Woe to me *dresses in sackcloth and pours ash over head*. Itīs a bit...sad since thatīs an area, profession wich is admirable to master.
