Just starting up a former very popular topic in this section. What video games are you playing right now? Liking it? Hating it? Recommend it?
I'll get it started. I just picked up a copy of Tomb Raider Underworld. I've been wanting to get it for months, but had been sticking with my regular World of Warcraft. Although I'm only in like the third stage here, I like what I see so far. It plays really nice and man Lara looks like Angelina Jolie more and more with every release.

I was once a MAJOR WoW addict. When WoTLK came out I had a 70 warrior, 70 rogue, 70 mage and 2 70 priests (a holy and a shadow). Now I just mess with the Death Knight. Been playing four 4 years and a few days... lol

At the moment I´m playing one of the best and most addictive games made for the Playstation 1...a little game from Sweden called "Kula World". Anybody ever heard of this great game?

It´s an absolute gem of a game...a totally addictive puzzle game with chilled out music, nice graphics and really intelligent gameplay.
If you have a PS1 you should definitely check it out.

Though I haven't played anything in about a month, the last thing I was playing was every Metal Gear game up to MGS 3, including the two old-school ones for the Japansese MSX, Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2. Since I don't have a PS3 though, I'm unable to play MGS 4.

Not a big gamer. I really love Ultima 7. It came out in the early 90s and I still play it occasionally out of nostalgia. It's a real work of art.
Other than that, I play Half Life 2 sometimes when I am bored. Also, GTA: San Andreas.
I haven't owned a gaming console since Super Nintendo. I am sometimes overcome with gaming envy though, seeing all the amazing looking games that have come out over the past few years.

I haven't gotten this yet, but I have a big gripe. I know Resident Evil 4 was amazing in gameplay and the change from the zombie... BUT... I just don't feel the Resident Evil in the games WITHOUT the zombies. It would be like having a vampire movie where vampires can go outside in the sun and don't have fangs... Oh wait... I don't care what anyone says about the standard mook enemies in RE 4 and 5, those are zombies. Yes, they're faster, stronger, and smarter than your standard zombie, but they're infected, they're single-minded, and more importantly, they want to kill you. They're still zombies, just by another name.

i don't play games much these days but i have been watching RE 5 gameplay vids on youtube
i also miss the zombies and i miss the traditional puzzle type gameplay, it's an action game now, fun but i prefer RE 1,2,3 and code veronica
also there are no more scares that surprise you and i miss the eerie background music in the early RE games, i still hum some of those to myself this day haha
there is something much more creepy about a flesh eating zombie than some possessed villager trying to hit you with an ax in my opinion

I had a guy once tell me in chat one day that only UGLY FAT chicks play WOW. I immediately corrected him and told him that I certainly was NOT Ugly and I also advised him that I was not fat. He then jumped to the conclusion that I must be a man posing as a woman and he would not let it go....So I turned on my webcam and that shut him up. LMAO priceless. I know a lot of my female friends play WOW and let me tell you, they are not ugly and they certainly are not fat. In fact, if you will let me so bold as to say they are F&$^%#G HOT....thats capital H. Capital O and Capital T ...HOT... ;-)

All my high level toons are chicks... LOL... I usually get teased about that, but I don't care because no one bitches when they have to play a female in Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, etc...

Thats how I feel about RE. I liked playing part 4, but didn't enjoy it as much cause they weren't zombies.

I think this is why I am liking Tomb Raider more now than I ever did before. Tomb Raider was hard as shit, at best, in the days of PS1. I've grown to really enjoy the remakes and new titles on the next gen consoles. I like that it isn't all shooting and you have to think to solve some puzzles, just like in the classic RES games.

I kind of lost interest after playing Tomb Raider 1 and 2. Both were awesome exploration games, and the new one looks great, but there are other games I'd like to try before getting back into the Tomb Raider series again. Little Big Planet and UFC will be the next games I get. After that, I'm really anticipating God Of War 3.

I been into WOW for about a month now. If anyone wants to join up and run with me, Im darkkunter in malygos pve. If you look at my name carefully it doesn't say HUNTER, it says KUNTER. And Ill get people asking why my pets name is Summers Eve? Ill just tell them, "Because he protects the Kunt"! My kid got RE5 a week ago, hes already beat it, so imma prolly give it a go next week on my vacation. (Yes Im pathetic, spending my vacation at home playing games, but fuck it, im gettin paid for it,lol)....Im a big fan of RE4 also, and I think ive logged in about 120 hours of playtime. I unlocked everything but the electro gun thingy. That game is badass!

Ha... I have one. I just recently took a bunch of older systems and games and put them in a storage unit because of limited space. These are the ones that I packed up, leaving just my Wii, 360 and PS3 here:

I have the Game Gear and the Gameboy Advance. I really don't care for handhelds, so I never really include them. I think Gameboy is the worst because every few months there is a newer, better version of one out there. Screw that! I got the Gameboy Player so I could play the Zelda games that came out on the Gameboy and Advance. I'm a Zelda fan, so I felt I was missing out.

Yeah, Zelda is amazing! I must get an old Gamecube with a Gameboy adaptor, so that I can play Zelda on a TV set. It really sucks playing it on a tiny handheld screen. Shame the new Nintendo DS doesn`t have a TV-out function.

Heh this is my industry.
currently just playing Left4Dead on my PC, Smash Bros brawl, monster hunter freedom on PSP. Too busy making the damn things to get a chance to play them.
My fave games in no order are-
Ocarina of Time, FFVII, every major Mario platform game, Sonic 1-3, Links Awakening (probably my fave game of all time), Left4Dead, Team Fortress 2, Half Life series, Castlevania DS games, Grand Theft Auto (all except the terrible GTAIV), Advance Wars, Smash Bros Brawl, any Metroid game. Probably more but I can't remember.
Heh after reading through this thread I've seen a game that I did some work on xD.

I don't find it to be terrible. I think it is just that people expect every game now to be the biggest thing, especially when San Andreas added so much more to the game than it's previous versions. Can't do that in every game. And remember, this is the first GTA for the next gen consoles. I am sure there was some testing of the waters there.

Playing Final Fantasy 10. Having a hard time unlocking the abilities of the special weapons after you get them. Also playing Tony Hawk's Underground 2. Australia and New Orleans is tough!

Oh no, I completely understand gameplay and what they were trying to achieve. Part of my thesis was on development studios giving in to pressure from their fans. The problem with GTAIV was the unnecessarily realistic physics, the story structure, the overhype, missions that were previously optional in older GTA games were now obligatory. But from a gameplay standpoint they just sucked the fun out of the game. GTA SA remains the pinnacle GTA game - not because of its size or the disposable minigames but because it was fun to play. They provided the player with a multitude of environments and added RPG elements. It just worked.
GTAIV just has a floaty feeling to it, like you're running through mud or running a dream. But I'm also let down that Rockstar would rather add more DLC to Libery City than make a proper sequel set in a different location.
But meh I'm too picky like that xD it's an okay game. It's good. It's just not got the story and charm of Vice City or the variety and scope of San Andreas.

Just bought UFC 2009 Undisputed yesterday as soon as the store opened! That fucking game is hard fellas! Its worth the $80! I lost my first 3 fights in career mode, won my next 8 then bam lost one, win one, lost 2 win two...the highest I got ranked was 8 then I would fucking lose a match sending me back down to 11 or 12!
I haven't been addicted to a game like this in a lonnnnnnggggg time. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great fighting game. Posted by Patrick (Member # 1169) on :
Just picked this up and have been playing it on my PS3. I think the graphics are good for this title (the Wii version is more cartoony) and the gameplay is easy to pick up after fighting a few ghosts. My favorite part so far is just the fact that all the voices are from the real actors and it fills in some storyline from the two films. It's been a blast thus far!
