when i go to google and search something search results appear while typing. How do i stop it completely from showing results in the search bar?. I've gone to preferences and tick the box so words don't appear while typing and it works but, when i close my browser and re-open it it's back on again.I'm pretty sure there is a way to turn it off. It's really annoying.
thanks

On firefox go to tools>>options>>advance and turn off "search for text as i type"
On I.E
Go to tools>>options>>advance and untick autocomplete text/fill in
That'll do it, that and daily deleting all browsing activity will prevents others knowing about yer google finds.
I'm sure someone more savvy could figure it out though Posted by lust4latinafeet (Member # 32686) on :
It is already unticked and the words still appear. Also,i updated to Firefox 3 and all the visited sites appear in tha navigation bar when i type in a site and i have installed the add-on "hide unvisited".It did work for a awhile now it doesn't seem to work even though i've reinstalled the add-on.Damn it's confusing.
