Okay, I know a lot of you guys and gals are into some of the heavier side of the music spectrum. Even though I no longer sport a mullet nor don a leather jacket, I still love my metal.

Finally, in my opinion, Metallica is playing metal again. Thoughts? Opinions? Comments? Sound off kidz!!

Cliff Rules!!

I haven't heard anything off of that album yet. I actually haven't bought a Metallica album since the "Black" one in '91 which totally turned me off of them when they became a mainstream favorite. How does it compare to "Ride the Lightening" or "Master of Puppets?" I bought those albums on vinyl when they first came out. I felt kind of betrayed by their musical direction and output of the 90's and beyond.

Well my friend, the black album was also my last Metallica purchase until yesterday. I have kill em all on vinyl and broke two puppets cassettes from over playing, and I have to say that this record is pretty fuckin good. Do yourself a favor and pick it up. Well worth it. Easily better then the black album.

I am in full agreement with you on all Metallica points. If their new album is better than the black album, that would be quite a (cunning) stunt and certainly worth picking up.

This record is the first in a long time that I have listened to begining to end more then once. Most of the time I am a music snob, and when it comes to the metal militia, I am very critical. This CD is nothing less then the best thing they have recorded since Cliff died. Best way I can describe it is that it has the balls of Justice, the depth of Puppets, and the soul of the Black album.

If not buy it, at least copy it from someone, and give them a few bucks for the trouble. Don't miss this one gents. It is really worth it.

I thought it was pretty good. It reminds me of ...And Justice For All.

Ha! I wouldn't go that far. But I DO think they've finally got something at least CLOSER to that sound. Apparently St Anger was an attempt at this but I was pretty damned horrified by it.

From what i have heard of the Album so far it definitely is heavier than recent Metallica projects. It sounds like a Ride the Lightning Metallica.

I'm just listening to it now... Cyanide is sounding like a good tune...good to hear they gave up trying to hard. It seems like they went back to playing for themselves so therefore it comes out sounding natural and not pre fabricated for the fans.

Heard the album twice... its okay. To be honest the radio stations that we're excited about the release hardly play any of the cuts. The songs aren't even requested during the afternoon hours. I think I heard "Cynanide" exactly once... two weeks ago, at nine o'clock in the morning.

I will echo Bondo only in the respect that I hear the same things he hears: Old melodies from their old songs glued together into something very familiar, but not new. I think the album had potential that just didn't quite make it.

I give "DM" an OK.

Master of Puppets is probably my favorite album from them.
