Its finally here the day i have been waiting for.... The culmination of my being... The day i go see Dark Knight at Imax. I know, I know i am almost 36 years old but Batman has always been my favorite Super Hero. The dark knight who takes care of evil doers in the shadow of the darkness. Christopher Nolan is the man as far as representing Batman in his superb directing and screenplay. Now i just have to figure out should i wear the utility belt and the cape or just the belt or just the cape without the belt... Just kidding... I think [Roll Eyes]

Been waiting to see it....two times we tried to get tickets they sold out...heard mixed things thus far, from an overdone plot to it being rather impressive.....

No shame in being 36 and a Batman fan, I'm 29 and I'm dying to see it too. I'm going to try and go see it later. They have it playing on several screens at the theatre that I'm going to go to but I'm still worried that it'll be sold out when I get there and I'll have to buy a ticket for a later show. I mean sure I'll still get to see it but I don't drive and it's about a 30-minute walk and it's hot as fuck outside today. It'll be worth it though.

What about Robin?
Does he ever show up in the BATMAN movies?

I gotta wait a lil' before it's released in this country in 4 days. I'm gonna watch it via IMAX aswell.

Hate the new cinema complex where they have allocated seating so you gotta sit where you're suppose to, unlike IMAX where you can sit where you darn well please [Big Grin] ... although the new complex has wide comfortable seating with alotta leg room.

OMFG! I just got back from seeing this about a half hour ago and I have to say it's fucking awesome! I will definetely be going to see it again. I wanted to see it on the IMAX screen but it was sold out for the day so I had to see it on a regular screen. I got my ticket and was told that the line-up was outside and I had seen the line-up so I thought no problem. The line wasn't that bad but then I saw that it was for the other regular Dark Knight screening. The screening I was seeing had it's line-up on the other side of the building and it was about 10 times longer. I did manage to get a good seat though.

Go see it! You won't regret it, trust me. I'll be going back to see it soon. Not today but soon.

I'm taking my kid brother and sister some time next week. I didn't want to see it without them, especially my brother, who's a big Batman fan, and even bigger Joker fan.

So Cain, what did you think of the movie? Don't leave us hanging.

Posted by Cain (Member # 8492) on :

Saw it on Imax Saturday night with my fellow foot friend and it rocked literally... The entire thrater shook in certain parts but obviously i will not spoil it for anyone cause that would be fucked up.... But i am seeing it again on August 2nd with my son at Imax. I was hoping it would crush that stupid friggin tap dancing fool in Spiderman 3 but it still beat it for the record. They should have made a better making Spiderman 2 which was a great movie. But they definintely impressed me with the Dark Knight Chistopher Nolan, Christian Bale and Heath Ledger (RIP) were awesome.

[Hop] YESSSSS!!!!!! [Hop] And today was the day [Hop] . Just left the IMAX cinema about a half hour ago. Had to get outta the central city before the end of work traffic kicked in. Or in that case would be home by September [Tongue] ...

All I gotta say about it is BRILLIANT... ABSOLUTLEY BRILLIANT!!!!! The whole movie fit together awesomely. Camera shots, angles, action, actors...etc. I wouldn't be suprized if Ledger wins an Oscar for his portrayal as "The Joker"... Definately deserves Academy nomination.

Definately gonna see it again via IMAX within' the next couple of weeks.

Definitely got to see it again you always miss things the first time around.

I went to see it again this afternoon. This time I went to IMAX screening though. I love this movie! I still want to see it again.

I got to see it the night before it was released to the general public (got awesome movie theater connections [Joint] ). There were only three of us in there watching it and we were so hyped up in there clapping and making those excited male noises that I'm sure we looked like damn fools! But whatever it was so awesome that we started the projector right back up and watched it again. Yes, back to back! It wasn't Imax though so I'm definitely gonna check out the Imax version in a few weeks.

On a side note...did you guys notice how fast it went to #1 on imdb? Think it will stay there?

I am hoping that it dethrones the Titanic for biggest movie maker... It at least has to pass Shrek 2 i mean come on it only has about 100 million to go to be that green ogre. Its at about 330 million right now... I think it will settle right around second place all time around 460-500 million

I hope it dethrones Titanic as well. Not too sure it will happen though since Titanic had that whole chick appeal factor that The Dark Knight is lacking.

According to the Associated Press, as listed in today's paper, The Dark Knight has made 314,245,000$ so far and it's only been out less than two weeks. I have no doubt it'll beat Titanic as the biggest earner of all-time if it can make this much money this quickly. It's already broken something like a dozen records. And -cfg- I don't think Titanic has the edge because of the "chick factor" because I've seen plenty of women going to see it both times I did.

I am not sure what will happen but in recent times most movies have started out big and dwindled fast. I have no doubt The Knight will break the top five but that ship might not sink this time.... Hopefully it does though.

Well I don't know about everywhere else but it's still selling out here. I went to see the new X-Files movie this afternoon and the 7PM IMAX showing of TDK was already sold out and there was a big line-up for one showing as I was going in to see the X-Files movie and as I was leaving there was a huge line-up outside the theatre for another TDK showing.

The Dark Knight was number one at the box office again this weekend and is expected to hit $400 million by Monday or Tuesday which would make it the fastest movie to make that much. The current record was set by Shrek 2 and it took that film 43 days to get there.

I just saw it again on Imax last night. I took my 10 year old son and he loved it. Was one of the best movies he's ever seen he said. I can only agree with him.

I want to see it. Batman is the only comic character I am even remotely interested in.

Posted by Cain (Member # 8492) on :

Good call Eliza all though i do like Superman and Spiderman and basically all of them (except the Phantam aka Billy Zane) and by the way yes it did just pass $400 million Monday. It will easily coast into second place all time and maybe if they re-release it before oscars if it gets a nod maybe it will sink that ship once and for all.

I'm gonna do a magic trick. I'm gonna make this pencil disappear! CLASSIC!! LOL

I was thinking the same thing about the re-release. That very well could it past the $600M mark. But I did read an article the other the day that said that in order to surpass Titanic in ticket sales (# of tickets, not $$$) TDK will have to do about $900M because of roughly a 50% increase in ticket prices since '97.

Yeah i know that inflation-adjusted figures shows that Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) would be at 1.12 billiob by today's standards also. Oh well at least we know it is a great movie and we were around to experience it.

Posted by -cfg- (Member # 13863) on :

Hell yeah, I'm just glad you liked as much as I did, so that we can talk about how awesome it was
