I just had an idea for an interesting game, one that might be a bit more challenging than the recent games we've had so far.
With any relatively well-known person, be they actors, musicians, athletes, politicians, comedians, performers, or those people who are famous for some reason that we may not know yet, the goal here is to use a celebrity's name, and use it to link it to another's name using first and last names. In other words, the last name of the first celebrity will be the first name of the next. I'll also accept people from the past who are famous/well-known.
So if the first name is, say, Ricky Martin, the next one I could use is Martin Lawrence, and the next one after that would have to have the first name of Lawrence. Honestly, it probably won't go as long as the other games, but I think this much more challenging, and one that makes you really have to think about the name your putting down. For the record, we'll also accept different language versions of the same name. So if someone puts down a name like Juan Pierre (baseball player, outfielder for the Dodgers), I'll accept a name like Peter Jackson, as Pierre is the French form of Peter. A game like this needs some leeway to keep it going. I'll also accept first names that make up the previous last name, and nicknames of a real name. So Don Johnson can become John Williams, which could also become Bill (shortened version of William) Bradley, for instance.
So let's start.

You know, you can always delete your posts if you make a mistake. Maybe this is what I get for using an entire paragraph to explain the game.
But I still have faith this'll work. I suppose part of the fun for me will be how many times people will mess up until they finally get it. You've really gotta think about your posts here.
Anyway, it still stands at Stanley "Tookie" Williams.

Ok .. here goes my try
Well, Harrelson is of Scottish descent. The family name has different spelling variations including: Harold, Harald, Harrell, Hirrell, Hurrell, etc ...
So I will go with ...

he he he - nope, didn't pull it out of my ass ... I read a little up on the Harrelson name and crossed my toes that the reply qualified ...
Posted by Salvy_Mic (Member # 13384) on :
It does qualify, although I have to question bluetoelover's selection of the name when there were other Wood(y) names (WOODY ALLEN!!!!) that would have easily qualified. Anyway, from poking around myself, the last name Kloser is derivative of the German name Klaus, soooooo.
It reaches out the ass though, but we should have an easier time with Barbie than Kloser or Harrelson.

Richard Nixon
Posted by Salvy_Mic (Member # 13384) on :
Damn, you're really trying to make this hard for me, but here we go nonetheless. Nixon is a Scottish name, derived from the Scottish form of Nicholas, so in effect, Nixon means "son of Nicholas". So knowing that, and using a derivative of Nicholas, I go with:
Nick Charles, one of the main characters of The Thin Man movies with his wife Nora, the two respectively portrayed by William Powell and Myrna Loy.
Had to dig for this one. In the Slavic world, the -sky or -ski at the end of a family name is a bit like the Mac, Mc, or O' of Irish and Scottish names. So in this case, Marinsky means roughly "of Marin". Now, in Slavic countries, Marin means seaman, and the feminine form of Marin is Marina.
Bert Cummings
Posted by Salvy_Mic (Member # 13384) on :
You're an ass bro..... Bert Cummings, are you serious? Whoever the hell he was, he was only in like one silent movie in the 1920s. He doesn't even have an article on Wikipedia.
But that doesn't mean I couldn't get something out of that, oh no. You see, Cummings is merely a branch of the more common Clan Cumming, as seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clan_Cumming
Now, according to that article, the name Cumming derives from the original Comyn, as Cumming or Cummings are merely Anglicized versions of that. And by digging around more, I've come up with this: Comyns Beaumont, a name the man was also known by according to the article, and how I found it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Comyns_Beaumont
And before anyone else can get in here, I'll continue forward. Using the Beau part of the name Beaumont, I thusly go forward to the great 1940s boxer, Beau Jack: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beau_Jack
So there you go. However, trying to sabotage the game isn't cool. Be a sport and keep it going somehow. Don't be an ass for the sake of being an ass.

Austin Powers & Power Ranger Eh? lol...I was wondering how long it'd take for this game to get crazy...Ok, here we go, from the Yogi Bear Cartoons I'll go with Ranger Smith...and then from Ranger Smith I'll jump to the Simpsons and go with Smithers.
Even though his name is Waylon he goes by Smithers sorta on a one name deal like Madonna or Shakira. Where do you go from Smithers though? How about that Rapper Smitty?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCUG8paVX5w So from Smither's to Smitty, it's tough to get back on track with these single name deals, but Smitty was born Varick D. Smith and Changed his name to Smitty to be hip to the Rap scene. Now we all know a big part of the hip hop scene and successful hip hop videos are a bunch of scantally clad women running around flaunting their assets, and since Smitty rhymes with Titty, and a variation of Titty is Tits, I'll go with Tits McGee.
Now Tit's McGee is just a common slang term that can be used to refer to basically any volumptious and permiscous lady. My plan was to do a google search trying to find a famous person who goes by "Tits McGee" as a sorta stage name and work from there but my search quickly lead me to this little blog type deal where the author refers to Jessica Simpson as Tits McGee. It includes 5 nice pics of Miss Simpson sporting some open toed heels complete with an ad for women's shoes over on the right hand side... http://jesusheartsmusic.com/blog/?p=642
...Simpson I think we can probably work with, so there you go, we took a little detour but hopefully we're back on track...
