I got the idea for this thread from the video game thread here in this section. I've always been the biggest Zelda fan from way back when, sticking that golden cartridge into my NES, only to have the red button blink for 5 minutes. Oh the good old days!
Anyhow, I was wondering what everyone's favorite Zelda title is, but there is also a catch. I want to know your least favorite. I'm going to stick with only the console versions because some of the recent handheld (Four Swords) games are pretty much copies of older games. Have at it...
The Games: - The Legend of Zelda (NES) - The Adventure of Link (NES) - A Link to the Past (SNES) - Ocarina of Time (N64) - Majora's Mask (N64) - The Wind Waker (GC) - Twilight Princess (Wii)
I'm going to say my favorite is A Link to the Past. Although I have enjoyed the HELL out of all of the titles, except one (more on that below), I loved the concept of Link to the Past and I played that game for soooooo many hours on my SNES. It introduced new weapons and items and the little games in the towns were fun as well. It was a welcome return to the top-down view that was taken from us in The Adventure of Link. I didn't care for the side scrolling and RPG aspects of leveling up health, attack, etc.
As for my least favorite, I am going to go with Majora's Mask. The sad thing is, it took me forever to get my hands on this game. I really enjoyed Ocarina of Time and this plays just like it. I just couldn't get into the time limit stuff with the moon and being it took me so long to get the game, I never really got a chance to force myself to like it. I might have to go back and give it a try.

Great post Pat.
My favorite is Ocarina of time. The 3d game play and the addition of the horse was spot on.
My least favorite was wind waker. I think it was more because of the gamecube itself than the game. I didn't like the combat structure, and the camera angles sucked.
The original will always have a place in my heart (no pun intended) and I will always remember where to get all the weapons and heart containers. As we get older, I can't help but wonder what important information I have forgotten because I can't forget these things, as well as the 99 life code to Super Contra. BTW, up up down down left right left right B A select start

I haven't played all of the Zelda games, but of the ones I have played, A Link to the Past is my favorite and The Adventures of Link is my least favorite. I hate the side-on view and gameplay.
There was also Link's Awakening for the Game Boy. I liked it - in my opinion it was kind of trippy compared to the other Zelda games I've played.

I personally haven't played many of the Zelda games myself, but the original Game Boy version from way back was my fave!! To me that game personified Zelda, that was the first RPG I have ever played in my life. My worst being the N-64 Zelda; I tried it out like once and totally wasn't into it.

No, no Explosivo, we must never mention the CD-I games. You know they're forgotten for a reason.
I've never been a big Zelda fan per se, but I have enjoyed any of the ones I've played. I was hooked on Link to the Past, started getting hooked on Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, and had little interest in The Adventure of Link. So I guess there's my answer in a nutshell.

Phantom Hourglass is a lot off un for a while, but it seems easy to get lost, so I kinda stopped playing. other than that, Link to the Past was probably the best Zelda game I've played.

I finally put in my Link's Crossbow Training game this week. I bought the damn gun just to get the game because I am a Zelda fan. The game itself uses the exact stages from Twilight Princess in a gallery shooter of sorts. At times you also have to move around a little bit, but those controls are a little clumsy.
Overall, the game is worth what it cost to get the gun and the game ($20 on sale when I got it). It is a little the same old same old after a bit, but hey, it's Zelda!
