If you think rap is nothing but a bunch of dudes rapping about blunts, bitches, and bling, than your sadly mistaken. I encourage anyone who has their doubts, or their prejudices, to check these songs out.

So much of today's music is dark. Bands like Nickleback I think carry rocks old banner. Other bands are way out in left field. Rap was at one time an art of sorts, but now it's more about the gimmick. What I don't like about most of today's rap music is the profanity and amazing disrespect towards women. What amazes me is it seems so many women accept this. I'll stick with my 70s, 80s, and early 90s music mixed with some good jazz!

Rock isn't dead.
MCR/Fallout Boy and others of their ilk are not helping it much but you can't just kill a music genre.
Unless your Scott Stapp then you can kill my will to remain hearing capable with the greatest of ease.
Rap,rock and even country has it's place and it's all time greats. What you see on MTV/VH1(lol on both) or CMT isn't always or nine out of ten times the best representation of the genre.
