We had Jack Abramoff, Mark Foley, Lewis "Scooter" Libby [I believe he's currently under trial in regard to leaking information about Valerie Plume], Tom DeLay, Randy Cunningham, and I'm sure there are others I've left out. In lieu of these guys, I believe politicians no longer get free tickets to sporting events. It seems like it's one guy after the other. Why is this happening so frequently. It's making us, as the country, look really bad.

Feetlover2, you are correct - I am starting to think it is more of the fact that I am exposing myself to the news more and am hearing more of it. The truth is you can see scandals go back in the history of the American presidency - with the Lewis "Scooter" Libby trial reaching a verdict, today's USA Today features a section highlighting a partial listing of past scandals, and presidents such as Clinton, Reagan and Nixon are no strangers to scandals erupting within their parties.

Ronald Reagan and his Iran/Contra fiasco, cumstained dresses during Clinton's tenure along with Whitewater, Warren Harding Teapot Dome, Ulysses Grant Whiskey Ring, and all the way back to the Thomas Jefferson sex scandal. His slave Sally Hemmings, that gave birth to a white son. Presumably Jefferson's! [Big Grin]
