Probably a couple of weeks as long as you scoop all of the goop out of it really well. Question is why the hell do you want to keep it in the fridge??? Will trick-or-treaters be knocking on your fridge door?

It's a suprise for someone My friend has a birthday that happens to fall on halloween, so we're gonna carve 'happy birthday so and so' and put a sweet gift inside the pumpkin - pretty cool, huh?!

I've heard if you coat it in WD-40 it'll last longer too.. If you keep it in the fridge too long it will turn to mush when it's out at room temp, so watch for that. I think the guy at www.extremepumpkins.com has some other recommendations too (that's where the wd-40 trick came from...but I've never tried it)

I've got a better one....Last year I forgot to bring them in off the porch. Elk came up onto my porch and ate most of them. We had to re-carve all 4 pumpkins.
