Well, I just got done beating the game, and I must say that it should be illegal to own a Gamecube and not own that game. Playing through it once, games dont need to be that good. One of the most satisfying gaming experiences I've EVER had. So much to do, see and kill. Each boss was unique in its own way, level design was gorgeous, and it provided different challenges around every corner. From practicing your sniping skills, to fighting your way out of a house swarming with villagers, this game really did have it all. And the bonuses after your done! It took me 18.5 hours to beat, not counting all the times I died. Its going to be a DAMN long time before a game outdoes this one. I'm beginning to think even the new Zelda won't be able to, its that good.

I haven't even seen the game in action, but going on what I've heard people say about it, I can safely say I'll be agreeing with you soon enough...I just gotta get me a new TV so I can play my Game Cube again... [Mad] RE4 is definitely on my "to get" list. [Thumbs Up]

I beat it in 20 hours and died 56 times.

I like the other games more because of the great background music and zombies are just cooler and scarier than villagers. The game didn't need to be as long as it was and for such a long game I would expect a better ending.

Also why is it called resident evil 4? It hardly had anything to do with the other games story line.

I give it 8/10

Camera angles and zombies weren't as good in other games. The Regenerators were hella scarier than anything in the other Resident Evils. There's more adrenaline rushing through me when a horde of 15 villagers with pitchforks and chainsaws wants me dead then...oh two zombies lumbering towards me at a snail's pace. This one was a lot more "survival horror" than the other ones were. I felt relieved and proud of myself when I got past certain areas. After experiencing the ending of Halo 2, RE4's ending was good. There's something about upgraded weaponry that feels oh so right...

Oh and I don't want to ruin any parts of the story, but towards the end they showed why certain characters were involved, and what the purpose of this whole thing was.

18.5 hrs isn't very long, lol. I just finished Star Wars Knights of the Old Republice on the X-Box a couple of days ago and it took me 62 hrs and a handfull of minutes to complete. We dont have a cube, but after playin the other Res Evil games on the PS, We would definatly get part 4 if we had the console.

For an action game, that's pretty long. KOTOR is an RPG...have you seen Jade Empire? IGN gave it a 9.9/10, calling it the best RPG on the system, obliterating even Knights of the Old Republic. Cant wait for that...

I agree that KOTOR is an rpg, but it seems to have a lot more action than most rpg's that I have played(besides diabloII). Havent heard of Jade Empire tho, will it come out on the X-box, or one of the other consoles?

Strictly speaking of survival horror games, i think nothing beats Fatal Frame II.
Itīs an incredibly beautiful game, in which horror is more subtle and more dense and deep, rooted in sadness, as opposed to the traditional "shock" resources of the Residen Evil games... i might add that RE4 is a superb game, but everyone interested in a much richer horror experience should definetly try the game iīm talking about.
(Sorry for my lousy english and spelling).

I've only played a few hours into my RE 4. I get so many freakin' games anymore, I keep putting them down. But my initial reaction to the game is that it is...

A. Much scarier that the older ones
B. Much better graphically than anything for any of the consoles
C. A nice deviation from the zombies

My only complaint about the game is the aiming system can be quite hard. An autolock, even a minor one, would have been nice!

It's more intense...just wait till later. It amazed me how varied the enemies are. There are SO many different enemies, unlike the other Resident Evils. Zombie/Dog/Licker/Crow/Chimera. I wont spoil anything, but there are tons of enemies to be find. The aiming system does take a bit of getting used to, and an auto-lock and strafe would have been nice.
