Funny how both men flubbed and they decided to do it over again just to make sure, and this time around they didn't use the old Lincoln bible infact not even one at all

What was it that made them both stumble on it yesterday - the imminent history about to be made..because Obama is a brilliant speaker unlike his predecessor!

I can't be sure of the cause, but it was undeniably somewhat of a jarring moment. Let's hope that's all it was, and not a bad omen. [Smile]

If only he could leave out the "UH...UH..UH's" and he would go from a good speaker to an exceptional one. You should also thank Jon Favraeu his speach writer for most of it.

Haha what's this about Jon Favreau??

Edit: Nevermind, just looked into it. I thought you were referring to the actor/director! I love that guy.

And yeah I could do without all the Uhs, but sometimes I think they almost add to his rhythm in a weird way.

Review some of the old JFK speeches. "Uh" was certainly in there a lot. At the time, it made the listener feel that he was being extemporaneous. It was very contrived but eventually became a habit. Listen to some things that RFK said and you will hear the same cadence. Teddy did it, too, but that happens when anyone has tippled a bit much and suddenly has to choose their words carefully.
