in all my years on this earth, i have never identified as a liberal (no matter what conclusions you have jumped to). and yet even i can see that it's attitudes like yours that are tearing America apart. to think that my sister is putting her life on the line in afghanistan, fighting the taliban, fighting for our freedom, for YOUR freedom of speech, while you are nestled in your computer chair spewing hateful language at your fellow countrymen for simply disagreeing with you... well, it makes me sick to my stomach.
after having perused some past threads of yours, i see that it isn't just me, but in fact quite a number of other posters who, without having provoked you at all, have been routinely insulted and denigrated by you after having merely expressed viewpoints that are different from yours. one wonders why you attempt to have discussions at all.
freedom of speech only works when you use it responsibly. otherwise, it is dysfunctional, and you are simply abusing that right. your conduct is an absolute disgrace to the founding fathers of America, and to the men and women in uniform who are so valiantly defending that right. you should be ashamed of yourself.
freedom of speech exists to facilitate discussion, but when you resort to insolent, schoolground name-calling, you are in fact working AGAINST that right by LIMITING the conversation. and if you can't see that, then there is simply no hope for you.

He was just standing up for what he believed in, and no one will take that away from him. There's a moral to the story, we all want something better for this land and some people are more outspoken about it but I think we all share a common ground in that we all enjoy freedom.

I called him out when he was being a major ass. I too tried to have a serious debate with him at first, but when it was clear that he was more interested in flinging insults and slinging rhetoric, I unfortunately did the same. He acted like a punk, so I was a punk right back at him.
I've got no problem with people who disagree with me, honestly I don't. I just expect people to be civil about it, and if you're not, don't expect me to just let it slide off my back. I'm going to be an asshole. It's my nature.
Even other conservatives like footgurl were turned off by the guy's nonsense. I admire you trying to play devil's advocate, but it seems to me that you're more into anarchy and disorganization anyway, and there's nothing wrong with that. But you weren't there when the guy started his jive. He was not standing up for what he believed in, he was doing everything he could to bring everyone else down. Unfortunately for him, I get down and dirty with the best of him. Eventually, I just got bored. He made it fun for me to make fun of his dumb ass, for awhile at least. And truth be told, he deserved it. You may disagree, but that's okay.
The rocks are still out. I don't care about guilt, because I've got plenty of it. I'll throw 'em anyway at whatever I think needs a rock upside the head.

You have every right to defend yourself Mic..especially when someone calls you out, I don't think anyone is arguing that. I am Cynical of the Gov't because of who I know personally involved, what they know about how things really work behind closed doors, and who really is behind the puppets they put on your TV screen that you're supposed to root for. We can only bide time at this point.Insubordinate is a more fitting term.

Truly isn't. I'm hopelessly cynical, myself. (Which is why I think blind partisanship is essentially the death of the brain, and that there's far too much of it around to be healthy. I'm interested in objectivity.) I don't believe in the puppets on TV either. Just interested in your take on it.

I'm very familiar with all that you've mentioned. Scary isn't it? I used to rant to my girlfriend at the time about everything from the Council to the Bilderbergers years ago, beginning probably around 9/11. She thought I was crazy. She's slowly come around, especially after many things I predicted have in fact come to fruition. Now she's my wife.
I wouldn't say I actually believe 100% in any of it, or even did back then. (I don't mean the organizations, most of them are real enough, I just mean the overarching conspiratorial motivations attributed to them.) But it's certainly very interesting to look into and to consider. I just really can't bring myself to totally believe in anything.
