Otherwise, she's a total babe (especially with the red hair). I remember my first exposure to her was in the old UPN (remember that?) drama "Kevin Hill", where she once made out with Taye Diggs. I thought she was attractive in that show, and since then it seems that her career has really taken off.

But if you go to Wikifeet and look her up...

Why do women wear shoes that do that to their feet? [Cry]

I too wonder the same thing.

Why women wear shoes that ruin their feet is something us foot guys have wondered for a long time now. I think it's because they don't think of the appearance of their feet is as important as the look of the footwear itself.

I just wikied her. Wow, gorgeous woman and yet the MOST ugly feet I've ever seen. EVER. I have a theory. Women with ugly feet have stared at their own feet for so long that they:

A. Don't believe feet are anything sexual or pretty
B. Have themselves convinced that all feet are gross
C. Know they have ugly feet but think..."they're only feet"

Only girls with beautiful feet (who've been told their entire lives that they have lovely feet) usually see feet as sexual.

High heels make women more attractive because it accentuates their legs, thus making their legs look thinner to appear more sexy. But high heels also changes mens behavior and high heels are the female footwear of choice in most club environments. Here's what the Huffington Post said on this particular matter ...

And while we're at it, I started a topic a long time ago addressing that very same issue:
Are Men Nicer to Women who wear High Heels?

High heels gets men to subconsciously change their behavior towards women by being more helpful to them. So the next time you see a woman in super stiletto heels lined up outside of a club, or even inside of a club, note that those shoes will make 82 percent of men more helpful for that woman. And by "more helpful," I'm talking about buying them drinks or to cover for the food bill or bottle service. High heels manipulate men into being more giving to women.

It's no accident that women own dozens - or even hundreds - of high heels. It's no accident because those shoes give them power over men. That French scientific research linked in that Huffington Post article also talks about it.

I think the issue of shoes goes further than just wasting money on them, and that's usually the way men see it. I think it's about power and status for both men and women.

If you go to a club with women wearing flat-heeled shoes and pants instead of high heeled shoes and mini skirts, they are going to get passed over by the bouncers over and over again.

Higher heels are also more likely to make women appear more vulnerable outside of a club, therefore bouncers are more likely to let them in because those shoes turned on their natural, protective instincts. The same goes for women dressing provocatively standing outside of a club when it's minus 20 outside. A rational woman wouldn't be doing this unless it serves her best interests. Dressing like sluts and heading into a club makes women more vulnerable, thus attracting more attention from men while they walk past the club. Because of that, they are more likely to line up outside of the club themselves because their instincts is to protect those poor, cold women, shivering together, standing naked in the street in their four-inch heels. Once inside the club, the guys are more likely to buy them drinks as well to warm them up.

Deciding to buy a woman a drink in a bar or club begins well before you enter that club. Women are seducing men for resources outside of the club. When both of them get inside, the man's feeling of sympathy have already been stirred and stimulated, meaning it's more likely that he'll give her what she wants.

I suppose, but it really is a shame that women have to pretty much wear uncomfortable shoes and potentially injure/deform their feet just for male attention, but I guess it works.

Honestly, if I were a bouncer, I'd give more leeway to women wearing flat sandals like these: http://i.imgur.com/5DR9T.jpg

At least they'd still be comfortable and their feet would still be protected from the usually-nasty nightclub floor.

And even with the heels, in Christina's case, I'm sure she could have found other heels that didn't mess her feet up.

When men and women are asked why women wear high heels, the answers always seem the same: that high heels accentuate their derrières, calves and thighs, making a woman look sexier. But the more obvious answer that people are not giving is that high heels make women appear taller, thus allowing them to attract yet taller men. Women want men who are taller than they are. Wearing high heels is the perfect way to tell a guy that he's too short in a very tactful way.

It's no secret that women prefer men who are taller - if not, much taller - than they are. High heels not only makes sense from an anesthetics point of view, but they also increase a woman's sexual marketplace value as well.

Women wear high heels to attract more men to themselves so that they have a greater selection to choose from. Before online dating, it made a lot of sense to do this if you are a woman trying to go out and meet men at a local bar.

In the study I referred to in my last post, they talked about how men responded to women in high heels versus women wearing flat shoes. In the experiment where the women were asking men for assistance in completing a survey on gender equality, they received the most support from the gentlemen when they wore the highest heels. Eighty-two percent of they guys approached agreed to spend a few minutes with her to answer her questions, compared to nearly half as many when the women wore flat shoes. The other interesting part in the experiment (the women wearing the 3.5-inch heels, dropping gloves) showed that 93 percent of the time the man would chase them down to return the gloves.

This can also explain the fairy tale of Cinderella when the prince scours the land near and far to find Cinderella and return her high-heeled glass shoe. Cinderella, it seems, could actually be a cultural observation. In the Disney version, not only was she wearing high heels, but she also lost one of them. For men, this might evoke the same type of urges they get with regards to returning the glove. But because it's a shoe instead, I often wonder if the return rate is actually a lot higher than ninety-three percent?

The one thing I took issue with in that French study for why women in high heels receive more help, is that he says it is the strong imagery in sexiness in high heels that attracts men to women in heels. The part he failed to mention for why men are more drawn to women in heels is the notion that women in higher heels, taking smaller steps, evoke a sense of vulnerability, as well as the appearance of being off balance and possibly falling over at any moment. That triggers a protective instinct in men to rush over to women's side and help her to ensure that she doesn't fall over.

There was also another study I read that showed that women in nightclubs were far more likely to have men come up to them to buy them drinks if they wore high heels as opposed to women wearing flat-footed shoes. I've had women tell me in the past that they would put on high heels and go to bars to see how many drinks they could get for free by simply wearing fancy, high-heeled shoes.

But wearing those shoes is not something that is only found in modern Western cultures. In Japan, the traditional footwear would be made of wood and would make the woman appear to wobble back and forth as she walked as if she was about to fall over. Some prostitutes during the Feudal period in Japan would wear those wooden shoes that were roughly a foot in height. The link below illustrates the numerous types of shoes that made women possibly fall over in Japan, and thus requiring a man's attention. Also keep in mind that these shoes are very different from high heels. High heels have the added advantage of making a woman appear more vulnerable and also making her legs appear more slender and raising her posterior.

High heels have - and will - always be in fashion because they serve two functions: accentuating her beauty, and also maker her appear defenseless.

In the past, much of a woman's footwear was designed to project a sense of vulnerability above all else. In China, women for almost a thousand years were willing to bind their feet to make them appear smaller because smaller feet were more desirable for women. But women would deform their own feet on purpose to make it harder for them to walk, and thus, yet again, to gain sympathy from men.

You have to wonder how long women have been handicapping themselves to receive attention and help from men using both fashion and footwear throughout history? The "Giraffe" women of eastern Burma wear rings around their necks to make it appear as though their necks are being stretched out, making their heads to appear higher above their bodies, giving the impression that their heads would actually fall over at any moment. This subconsciously triggers men to be more attracted to these woman and come to their aid. The weight of the rings the women wear pushes down the muscles around the collar bone and even compresses the rib cage.

In the past, women were willing to mutilate their bodies to get even more attention from men. This is all about sympathy and attention from men. The skin under the rings that these women in Burma wear is oftentimes damaged and discolored so women continue to wear these rings indefinitely. The rings around the neck can weigh up to twenty pounds.

I think the reason women in Burma wear neck rings instead of high heels is because the surface of the ground is often not flat enough to make wearing high heels comfortable or even practical.

So are you starting to see a pattern here?

--

Also note that high heels causes hips on women to sway back and forth, but seated women wearing high heels also get more attention than women not wearing them. So even when women are seated and not moving, but wear high heels, the attention still comes their way from men.

High heels are worn to increase the status of women and the servitude from men.

I think the nicer the footwear is the more ugly it makes the actual foot and vice versa. A woman who wears high heels all day will get nasty corns, callouses, bunions, etc. Whereas a woman who wears something ugly like crocks will have smooth soft feet. I prefer the latter!
