WTF! NorCalFeet is right, I usually don't like to lob insults at others, but dude, you deserve one. Where does a dingbat with one post get off making such definitive statements?
It's not funny, if Wu wants to make that announcement, let him make it, and we'll respect and live with it.

As long as the Discussion Board stays afloat, I'm good. The tri-weekly updates and Feature Model sections are nice, but easily can live without them. I think most of us can agree that the Forum is 90% of this site's value - It's the lifeblood.
Of course, I have no financial skin in the game with a site of my own to promote, like some here do. Presumably the Contributions/Feature Model sections serve promotional purposes to drive subscriptions and $$ to their websites, but I doubt it's a MAJOR marketing platform that drives sub's in droves. Especially when most post in here on the regular, so people see new content from your great sites anyways and decide to sign up.

On the contrary, those feature model sets and contribution sections bring in a TON of traffic and business to our sites man. There's a BUNCH more lurkers and intro-page hitters that visit here than forum posters guaranteed. Whenever I get contribution sections spots, my traffic surges heavily...not so much from Forum sharing as you would think. I just do that to show you guys what's new or (old but new to the new guys).

Wow, NorCalFeet is on a roll today. We don't always agree on stuff, but he's right on his second point, and believe in credit where credit is due.
I'm not afraid to admit that I owe a substantial part of Feet Fair's financial success to Wu, and I usually get most signups after he posts my stuff on the contributions section.
I'm fortunate that my site has been around for long that many people already know of it, but a forum like this is invaluable for picking up newbies because they make up for a lot of the people who unsubscribe, and just like there's always new models coming of legal age to be able to model for a site like me; there will always be foot fetishists out there that will stumble on a great forum like this, and will be introduced to the many options they have to satisfy their foot cravings.

I agree with NorCal and Fair Adam too. One thing I would miss the most, however, is the feature model section. While I've also seen some surge in contribution updates, having done numerous feature sets, I can honestly say that each and every one of those feature sets have had a massive impact with sign ups, communication, and awareness of models. I've had girls who were over, but when they became feature girls, they became some of the most heavily requested girls I have. Plus, it felt neat to be featured! LOL

Here goes my opinion. I have beeen posting on this forum for some time now. Really enjoy reading commentary on my personal pics. However, over the last couple of years, I have noticed fewer and fewer comments and posts from husbands and boy friends of their female partner. Think this has led to a decline in the interest of the usual frequent picture posters. I know it has made me want to post less. Anyway, I noticed that Wu himself made some posts recently and that the commentary on his posts were equally very few to non existent. Think that Wu himself has become disillusioned with this whole thing. Just saying my opinion.

Alright people, getting kind of sick of this. Why don't we wait until Wu himself makes some kind of announcement?
This kind of reminds me of whenever there's some terrible tragedy like that Malaysian plane, and all the wackos and conspiracy theorists come out of the woodworks, all with their "definite" answers on what happens.
Maybe Wu got kidnapped by the CIA, or the FBI, or maybe it's the KGB? How about the Taliban? Perhaps aliens from outer space came down and abducted him? Could it be that the Liberal Democrats or Conservative Republicans are behind this? Big Government? The Tea Party? The Vatican? Maybe Putin kidnapped him and sent him to the Ukraine...
I just hope that Wu is OK, and I'll hold speculation for now. I know that Wu is a decent person, and if he is burned out and wants out, I think he will reach out and post his feelings for all to read.

Honestly, I think things began to decline due to social media. With every site and couple/person into the fetish able to set up a page on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, etc... - maintain, run, and post to it and call it yours, I think messageboards/forums as a whole have been on the decline.

True in the sense that couples or single women can post pics and think the whole world really follows them and their medium is much easier than discussion forums. However, the majority of "lurkers" or picture seekers will ALWAYS want to come to a place like this to see free samples of new material from "webmasters like us" who offer quality material for the consumer. There's only so much the amateur cell phone snaps will satisfy the connoisseur of fine female feet.

It's definitely a lot less work than going through a hub site like Wu's or MousePad to get the word out there. This site has been very Web 1.0 for a while now, and has been using the same conventions for well over a decade.
It's just a hell of a lot easier to get your own space on the internet now.

I seriously do not think it has anything to do with social media or the advancements there of. This site is still up and running, only thing missing is Wu's contribution updates every mon, wed, and Fridays. It has been a staple for over 10 years, and has been a great promotion/advertisement venue for all of you guy's and your websites. Maybe Wu is taking a little break or maybe something has happened to him? Let's wait and see if we hear from the man himself, hopefully soon. Until then, let's hope all is OK with him.

My statement had nothing to do with Wu isn't updating. It was about how message boards and forums are not what they used to be. I fully stand by that idea as you can easily see someone say, like Barbie Gurl just to name someone off the top of my head, gets 100s of interactions on EVERY photo she posts on Instagram and maybe a dozen here. I know a lot more saw the post and didn't say anything, but it's a heck of a lot simpler to post to social media outlets and see results for most people now. I think most site analytics will show that a half way successful social media page is the rage these days.

Agreed. I forsee a decline in the centralization of the foot community, gone are the days when photographers had the monopoly on foot fetish material. There are 1 million + foot fetish pics on Instagram alone. I wonder how our forum stacks up to that?
While photographers are geniuses at what they do, a pretty foot is a pretty foot! My favorite foot models all took selfies when it came to their sites.
I always wondered about the women out there that had the most beautiful feet, but were totally oblivious to it. With social media a woman with beautiful feet that nonchalantly posts a pic of her pedicure can suddenly gain 1000+ followers in a week. And those followers and directly interact with them. Most foot fetishist couldn't care less about the camaraderie of hanging with other foot lovers....they want access. Social media gives them that.
Posted by Derfjmeister (Member # 875) on :
I'll use myself as an example....I started on here when I first discovered Wus. And now it's rare that I ever get on here. I simply found more venues online. This fetish scene has simply exploded from when I even first started back before the Internet when the only venue that was available was Leg Show magazine plus a few quarterly and semi - annual newspaper type publications like Fetish Times and Foot Fetish News. Think about how many internet forums have come and gone, and you still have a few original forums like this one left. It's a testament to the fetish scene that Wu's is still busy,Hawks Feet Links and Aragorns Feet Links is barely alive compared to Wus. But it's gotten from where it was mostly amateur stuff on here to more of the website guys and the folks who support them (not that there anything wrong with that;LOL!!!) Personally for me,it's incredible on how much foot fetishism has grown. It's just that there are many many venues on the Internet that a foot fetishist can enjoy as far as videoclips and photos. It went from Yahoo groups(Yahoo Flicker is still pretty active) to other social sites like MySpace,Facebook YouTube and Instagram besides all the adult forums and porn tubes that now have a foot fetish section available besides the other foot fetishism forums available like the Mousepad,Shoesession,Hotshoeshots,Feetunderthetable and Feetcore. There's more amateur women who are kind of open to showing off their feet because simply this fetish really doesn't have to involve any type of nudity, all she has to do is literally remove her shoes to draw men's attention versus having to show off the usual T/A/P. Just showing off your feet is relatively tame these days and like GQGuy said it's a more rapid response. Plus now you have various subcultures going on as well besides other amateurs that create their own photos and videos as well. It's EVERYWHERE on the Net. So it does dilute participation here as well. This whole scene has just evolved both amateur and professional wise.

I have to say Norcal, Californiabeachfeet, feetfair, and coedfeet have some of the best quality photography on the net. I do like amateur and selfies, but it is like comparing apples to oranges. Some people do not realize what actually goes into operating one of these top notch sites. ex: The equipment $$$, the facility $$$, the models $$$, the photographers skill to get the right angles and lighting. It is a full-time job. I give them all the credit deserved.

Here's my two cents....Ive been a lurker since well god I don't even know. Easily before 1999. Anyway, this site is was one of the very 1st foot sites I began to visit on a regular basis. For all the same reasons everyone else did. I would buy Leg Sex, Leg Action mags as well, but the internet was where i ended up going and Wu's was always my 1st stop. Time is a fickled mistress, it can change things we don't want to change in the blink of an eye and prolong the efforts of things we work on everyday. I sincerely hope Wu is OK and will return soon. I feel like I know the regulars here by reading the posts in the forum and would think someone would help keep the place up. All this talk made me want to post my support for the site and come out of the shadows. No matter what happens. I hope to be an "active" member from Here on out. Thanks guys.

Just some random thoughts from my side.. 1) I wish Wu all the best.. irrespective of him getting the contributions section started again, or not. 2) For what concerns my site - I've posted stuff from BAREFOOT NUDITY only - the promotional impact of a feature in the contribs section of Wu's Feet Links is MUCH bigger than the one of a post in this forum (let's say 100 hits from a post in the contribs page for every hit from a post in the forum). 3) It is very difficult for a cult vendor/photographer like me to get much visibility and positive feedback in the forum.. my posts about the updates and/or model debuts at BAREFOOT NUDITY and BAREFOOT URBAN GIRLS are always made with a "well, you never know" attitude.. and also to show my (scarce but super-cool! ) followers here in the forum that I care about them and that I love them! Many of my posts get no comment at all, and last in the main page for one day or so... 4) In a nutshell.. if I had to choose which one between Wu's contribs page and this forum can go bust.. sorry guys & gals, but it's deffo the latter.. now it seems that exactly the opposite is happening.. but again.. "well, you never know"..

Yes, I'm on instagram as well as Facebook and yes I follow plenty of foot models on both social media sites, YET I've ALWAYS come to Wus first, for the forums as well as the contributions. There's nothing else like it (not even mousepad). To see this site diminish, would be a serious blow to the Foot Fetish world, mine especially! Hahahahaha! This dialogue is quite funny actually.
I wasn't saying that those pics taken with camera phones are better. They simply satisfy a demand at the perfect price point of $0.
When I was 18 and got my first debit card I was more excited than most. Why? I could finally subscribe to feet fair...of which I would check out the monthly brochures to see who he was having on next. Promptly subscribed. At that time there was minimal content on the net. All we saw were glimpses of full photo sets in these subscription only groups. 1-2 teaser photos. The party was inside. Join! There was no video at the time. Social networking wasn't even coined yet. I'm sure business was good back then.
Fast forward to now and I'm not 18 anymore. I have a full time job. Live in girlfriends and when I'm single an active sex life. I wonder...who is going to take my place in subscribing to these sites? Are 18 year olds wide eyed at the plethora of pics behind those closed password protected sites? I don't think so. They have nearly a decade of contribution pics on this site alone. Millions of pics on Instagram. Videos out to wazoo all over YouTube and daily motion...not to mention pirate sites. Why would an 18 year old kid pay $29.99 a month? His netflix and spotify memberships are $10 a piece!
There is talent on Instagram. I'd suggest looking there for models too. While there is no doubt that you photogs are brilliant at what you do. But seriously...I'll take the high arched phone pic over your average foot model at a nice studio any day. And that's if the average foot models pics were free! Charge me $29.99 for your average hot girl barefoot simply isn't going to fly. I've found the most beautiful feet I've ever seen on Instagram.
I have a buddy that actively looks for models on Instagram...he specializes in high arch photos. He finds the models and uses their popularity on Instagram 3000+ followers and combines his equipment/skills/HD camera to totally eclipse what she is already putting out on her own.
Sorry guys. You guys are brilliant. I'm still waiting for Adam to bring back Mona Lisa before I subscribe again. She has one in a million type feet. And though I'm loyal...we're really not. If she opened up an Instagram the need to subscribe to Feet fair would be abolished. I'd only do it out of loyalty and respect. Now..if I needed a foot fetish photo to put on canvas to put in my bedroom....Adam would be my man. It's art! But with spank material being so cheap, and access to our favorite models just a follow away...competition is steep. You guys used to be the heralds to our favorite models..the gate keepers. Now not so much. I think I could contact most of my favorite models personally for anything I want. If I like black high heels....done. We're not at the mercy of what you guys feel we want to see.
Anyway....feel free to laugh at my pedistrian taste(get it..pedistrian!) Money talks. My fetish hasn't decreased none..just the way I go about getting my fix. It's like selling coke in the ghetto when crack came out.

Nope. Not the final voice. Just a consumer for the past 14 years whose spending habits have changed. We consumers however as a collective are the final voice however.

you see some folks don't mind instagram or twitter but if you want great quality HD crystal clear photography you must pay for it. Someone has to work to get the finest quality pictures, and they do not come cheap, plain and simple.

Not if all of us paysites are doing this which what we love for fun and don't care to follow the social trends on what we HAVE to do with our sites.

My points for social media weren't for the reasons for Wu not updating, nor saying that the quality there is on par with pay sites.
I'm talking COMMUNICATION here. This is the forum and its purpose is communication and sharing of photos, ideas, thoughts, etc. All these things you can do on Social Media. That was my point. And to be honest, to the average person who emails me every week asking me how to make a web site (I'm sure my other web master friends get that too), how much easier is it for that person to post a photo on Social Media outlets than write the small code here. I see broken code links all over the forum and clean some of them up. LOL...
That was my point fellas. The other ideas you can debate.

Exactly, I get those same guys always e-mailing me about "How to start a foot website" or "How to land the models"...at this day in age, if you don't already have an established paysite..the best thing is to just go the social media route. For the established sites, there has always been a following and always will be, kind of like a Brand name. Think of the old rock bands who aren't too hip or cool anymore like Fleetwood Mac, The Stones, or the Moody Blues...they always have the fan base and get new ones all the time because of the brand name people know. Like I said, I think most of us established sites just do it for some extra money or for the fun of it because of all the self entitled people on social media and pirates stealing material and figure a debt is owed to them of free quality feet pics.

And maybe that's cool. No "how do I get feet threads". But maybe we would have a stronger and more cohesive following if we were on Instagram/twitter? Perhaps the forum format is antiquated?

All I know is, if this site closes or shuts down, I'm in trouble. Like most of you, I've been here awhile (maybe not as much as some). This is the ONLY place to go for good pictures, postings, and all that jazz. Social media can suck it. I've supported the pay sites because there's just something about getting a great quality pic that facebook/twitter/tumblr don't offer. I guess all we can do is hope for the best...

OK.. I am an old-school foot-focused pornographer. I started taking pics of barefoot women in 1992.. digital cameras and internet were barely in their infancy back then. I have ripped my ass off to get better gear, improve my technique, and convince the hottest girls in the neighborhood to leave their shoes at home and get their soles dirty. I have been an avid reader of LEG SEX (its "bare feet ratio" was better than LEG SHOW's). I started surfing the web in search of barefooting women (my soft spot) in late 90s.. sneak sessions from public computers at my University. WU's was already the go-to reference. I have seen the sites of ALL the "colleagues" around here in their infancy.. and I have seen probably 4-5 as many sites going out of business. In 2007 I started supplying Toes-In-Action (thanks for believing in me, Hal Heaven! ).. the rest, if you are into barefooting and dirty female feet.. is history..
This said.. I am a strong supporter of the "live and let live" philosophy (er.. FEETOSOPHY! ). I have to confess that this world where any Plain Jane posting crappy selfies of her peds in this very forum, and any Ordinary Joe posting shaky candids of his 60-something not-so-hot neighbor barefooted in the backyard, feel that they are ENTITLED TO STARDOM (and rightly so, in a manner of speaking.. as they DO HAVE A FOLLOWING!)..
simply makes me go BERSERK.. BUT..
I HAVE TO ACCEPT THE SPIRIT OF THE TIMES.
So, whenever (quite often, sadly) I stumble upon PLAIN CRAP BEING PRAISED AS MASTERPIECE.. I just laugh at myself.. and move my ass towards better stuff (there is still so much of it around here, indeed).
Hey, don't get me wrong: I have nothing against amateur photographers.. I used to be one of them, and many of them take terrific pics, even in spite of their so-so gear. And I also believe that there are too many crappy pics in commercial adult websites.
I am fully aware that I am a dinosaur, that the togs I respect are dinosaurs, and that we are bound to extinction, sooner or later. That GQguy dude here is fucking right.. people now have access to ZILLIONS of pics & vids FOR FREE in the web (from Playboy's barefoot centerfold girls to barefooted Hungarian farmgirls giving b-jobs to horses!).. so.. WHY ON EARTH should they spend 11.95 bucks per month to see dirty-soled girls at BAREFOOT URBAN GIRLS (not ordinary ones, IMHO.. but yeah, not Miss Universe).. or 20.95 bucks per month to see dirty-soled exhibitionist girls showing their "jewelry" in the street at BAREFOOT NUDITY???
Sure I will not die without putting on a brave fight, with the only weapons I have.. my Nikon, my insane passion for barefoot women, my skills and my wonderful, beloved models.. and when I will be driven out of business by all the I-phone heroes and by all the Instagram heroines.. maybe someone will mourn me and my crazy barefoot online circus.. and I will grin back to him/her from hell!!!
LONG LIVE THE GEEZER FOOT PORN TOGS!!!

Different ethnicity then other sites...just like there are sites( or were) sites with just Central American Latinas and some just black women...and the Russian barefoot site as well...I can appreciate the different faces and the feet can be different as well from what I see around me.
To each his own....I sure hope this site isn't dead...it was a great way to see a variety of vendors and their unique offerings. I've been an off&on member to several of the sites here...admittedly haven't paid for content recently due to lack of free time and low storage space!!!
Hope Wu is ok and he returns...perhaps if he has left the industry...we can rebuild the site. I've been on other non-fetish boards and the owner abandoned them...others pulled as much content as possible and started a different site...and if the original owner returned he could reassume the helm.

Definitely not the Universe that demands change. It's some indecisive fucks online (in this case) who think they can be rock stars too and on a whim decide to sway social media. Add in a few content pirates who blot out Watermarks and steal full sets of photos off pay sites and claim them as their own and you have that entitled social generation who deserves none of it.

Really hope we don't all login one day and the site cannot be reached. If Wu is indeed the sole proprietor of the domain, its maintenance, and its costs, though, that will indeed be the case if he's gone - whether in March 2015 or sooner.
Unfortunately, I highly doubt ownership can be transferred from him to another entity without his authorization...
The actual website of Wu's is severely outdated. It hasn't seen overhauls or refreshes in ages, but that's part of the charm IMHO. I like it simple and Web 1.0 style. It acts as a great one-stop synthesized shop for website updates, amateur content, events, news, and webfinds. True, you could find your way to most of the content here on Wu's elsewhere, but the benefit of Wu's is having it all in one spot and shared by like-minded folks.
Here's hoping all this conjecture proves useless and Wu returns this week and all is back to normal!

You said, the Nature of the Universe is that nothing ever stays the same, hence..it "demands" change by it's own nature which in concept doesn't have to be true if you don't want it to be. Especially when we're dealing with petty social trends that we have the power to squash.

I'm not sure what makes you think that a few people could stop something which thousands of people are already using. Things like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and whatchamacallit are not going away. They are here to stay, in one form or another.
Something that stops to evolve, to live and to grow will sooner or later die. That is just the nature of things. Websites/forums on the Internet are no exception. There are thousands of websites on the Internet which are not updated anymore. They are not dead in the sense of "not available anymore", but they are very much dead in the sense of "they do not live any longer."
Fun fact: The forum software that is used here is UBB.classic 6.7.0, which is ten and a half years old. That is a freaking eternity on the Internet.

It happens pretty often that the end of a website or forum is never officially announced. I have been on the Internet since the autumn of 1994 and I have certainly witnessed this many times. (even especially with foot fetish websites, think about e.g. footgurl.com)
I do hope that wusfeetlinks.com will live long and prosper, but right now things don't look very good. Simply because there is apparently nobody who is both willing and capable of putting the required amount of work into it for that to happen.

Was just private chatting with Dee from Arch Attitude on Instagram. While there I looked at who she was following only to see "Twisted Toes" and "Mommie" from years past. When I got back here I realized that of the 3 women I recognize in the Wu's banner...I've followed them on Instagram at one point and NONE of them post here anymore.
This could be an opportunity to revamp things for 2014. I'd venture to say there are FAR more foot fetishist on social media than here now, when this used to be the epicenter of foot fetishism. Even fetlife has a more active discussion group than here. Hmmm....what can we do? What is our next step? We've come a LONG way as a community in the past 20 years. Our photographers have shown bravery in the name of art. We've shown support for guys going through hard times. We've helped other explore their wildest foot fantasies. And most importantly Wu has brought us together.
How do we get that 18 kid to join us. Surely a community is an asset to have?

Social media can always do as it pleases, but "active" paysites that offer quality unsurpassed photo & video material unlike "Joe and his g/f" for example will always be wanted and kept alive as long as the owner keeps providing updated material. Supply and Demand. Like fast food, Some people like McDonald's and some like Carl's Jr...they sell virtually the same or similar products just a personal preference to those who pick one over the other, doesn't mean one will die out.

I was not actually comparing social media to paysites. Rather, I was comparing the prospering social media websites to this forum, which is in the process of dying. No new members in months and no software updates in years speaks volumes about this.

I usually don't comment on forums, I just read the posts, but let me jump in here with my 2-cents worth.
I've been a webmaster since 1998 and have built over 200 websites. As far as readability, user experience and such... I don't see social media sites as having any advantage over the old forum model. If anything, I think it's a step backward. This is, in my opinion, a perfect example of the herd instinct. People following people without really knowing why. I market on Facebook, not because I love it, but because that's where clients are.
When you look at a forum like this one, what do you see? Nothing's broken. It's easy to use. Easy to upload pictures, easy to navigate. I don't see any issues that would cause someone to say, "It's too hard to use this system, let's try someone easier like Facebook."
Instead, you see people moving to the social media sites because "that's where the action is."
That being said, it is what it is. Forums don't have the traffic they used to, no matter what the topic or niche.

Er.. I mentioned BAREFOOT URBAN GIRLS and BAREFOOT NUDITY because they happen to be MY OWN PAYSITES, sir.. And to be exact, they are priced UNDER the market average.. BAREFOOT URBAN GIRLS is set at the lowest monthly fee allowed by BHE billing system, and BAREFOOT NUDITY is set well under the leading paysites in the "flashing" niche (Jan Vels's Flash-In-Public and Russian site Public Sluts). If you have quality stuff, but not in big amounts because you have just started, you can try to compete with sites which have been around for years (and hence have zillions of pics and vids) only by trying to aggressively undersell them.. Even at dirty cheap fees, sadly people has not properly flocked to join my sites.. exactly because they now have access to LOADS of free stuff of all kinds, of all quality levels, and for ALL tastes, including super-niche, weird and extreme ones (the reference to the barefoot Hungarian farmgirls having sex with horses was just to hint at this.. and anyway you can find such stuff in the web with a little patience, in case you are interested.. just type the right keywords on google.. ).

What you told about the genesis of Feet Fair and your "manifesto" for the future applies 100% with my own story.. I have started taking pics, supplying Toes-In-Action and finally I have launched my own paysites exactly as the icing on the cake of an entire life devoted to (devoured by!) barefoot beauties.
The operating margin of my sites would give a heartache to any serious businessmen.. but as I run my paysites only as an excuse to meet and shoot as many barefoot (and especially "more than barefoot" ) beauties as possible.. who gives a XXXX, after all???
Accepting reality when you cannot change it is OK, and also adapting to it, within certain limits.. but again, selling out your values is not OK, especially if this would make you terribly upset.. cult heroes are bound to have a tuff life, amico.. nobody achieves cult hero status through a few tweets.. so yes, I am on Facebook, Tumblr, xHamster, Fetlife, Flickr, YouTube and maybe some other "social web spaces".. but without selling out, staying selective (which can make you being felt by some as a hard-nosed asshole ). And it's my pics and vids which gave me cult hero status.. not small talk in a social network..
Hold on! All the best from Italy!

That being said, it is what it is. Forums don't have the traffic they used to, no matter what the topic or niche.
I am afraid that I have to agree with you on the decline of forums, no matter their user-friendliness and reliability from an IT standpoint (yeah, here on Wu's forum everything works as a Swiss clock.. I dare anybody to say the same of Facebook). Also the forum of CITY FEET paysite, which is the reference forum if you deal with barefooting and dirty-soled beauties, has been slowly dying since at least 2 years. Yet from my experience, while a post in the contribs section of Wu's Feet Links can bring a significant number of new subscribers to my sites.. a post on Facebook will at best result in a few cool comments, many stupid ones and assorted nuisances if you dare to "test the moral standards" a bit.. Facebook is great to find new models.. not to gain new customers.. for me, at least..

Who said anything about the universe DEMANDING anything? My statement was metaphorical, and worth reading carefully, certainly NOT misquoted or misinterpreted...
You said, the Nature of the Universe is that nothing ever stays the same, hence..it "demands" change by it's own nature which in concept doesn't have to be true if you don't want it to be. Especially when we're dealing with petty social trends that we have the power to squash.
How I wish that we can really squash those trends, amico.. from what I am seeing now, I am afraid that it's happening exactly the opposite. But yeah, I am with you in not accepting to be "obscured" by crappy pics and stupid talk wihout putting on a brave, relentless, "take-no-prisoners" fight! All the best from Italy, ciao!!

I don't know. Relatively speaking, for instance I find fetlife leaps and bounds easier to use than here. The option for profiles gives everyone personality. Again when talking about the average 18 year old....this forum is quite intimidating and archaic. We're all friends from a time where this was our only medium to communicate....but with tweets and Instagram and tumblr it's far easier to communicate with others than here. It'd be tough for new guys to not only join, but STAY. I think it's something we should give though too. Where are those kids now?

Good points, but why is the "action" there? I value your knowledge as someone with a lot of experience building sites, but it is easier to post a photo to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter than it is here for the AVERAGE to LESS THAN AVERAGE person. That's the majority of people on the web. As an admin here I've had numerous people ask me over the years "how do you post a picture?" "my code doesn't work" and things of that nature. Could it be them being lazy and not reading the rules and regulations area? Yes. But we don't have "upload photo" buttons here that MOST people would probably prefer using over the:
code:
[img]address here[/img]
code that is needed. I never had any problems with it, nor would I imagine, people like you. But we're not the majority and people now want everything to be super easy.
Again, I'm not saying anything bad about what we have here. I get a ton of traffic and business from this site. I'm simply talking about the ease of social media for COMMUNICATION and SHARING opposed to forums/messageboards. I think the new generation goes there 9/10 times.

I was not actually comparing social media to paysites. Rather, I was comparing the prospering social media websites to this forum, which is in the process of dying. No new members in months and no software updates in years speaks volumes about this.
Prospering because of what, popularity? Because I dont see any money being made through Facebook or Twitter because of how and what someone is posting. Eventually "free" runs out.

Hmm, so 100 replies and 7 pages worth in a few days, WU'S FEET LINKS IS NOT DEAD. It's US, that make up this site and this thread has proven it NOT to be dead by the amount of concern and questioned appearances by many people. It's only "dead" when the last person leaves the bar. Look at the forest for the trees.

Yeah,,,,I agree wity Jimmy-G. Social media is such a heard mentality. I've tried them all, and I only spend time on LinkedIn because it's all professional. I don't waste time on the latest fad- media. I prefer more one on one and group interactions, rather than crowd-speak. It's definitely a generational thing, youngsters, especially 20-something's, need that, I don't. They'll all grow up, have kids, have problems, and quit worrying about being "popular". If you got time for all that constant 24-7 activity of all that social media, you have WAY to much time on your hand and need to spend more time being successful instead of being "trending" --thus enduth the lecture!

Oh my. This site has been among the very first foot fetish websites I've ever found, years ago. Perhaps even in my 15, or sooner? Seriously. Wu's Feet Links are legendary.
However it does seem that Wu, for whatever reason, has decided not to update anymore.
I've read all of your reactions here. Both pro- and contra-social networking. Gotta say I'm from among the younger generation and I fancy Web 2.0+, social networks and most of what it brings along. I admit it's stuff like Twitter or Tumblr, that's behind this decadence of old-school foot fetish sites (I run my own tumblr blow anyway).
However, Wu's has its own charm. And if anything has happened and it's true it's technically dead and there's 11 months left until this site is shut down... I believe we - or mostly you, who contribute to these forums for years - should do at least something about it.
If the torch wasn't passed to another bearer, I agree with some people up where and say, let's rebuild this. Not the same, let's build the version 2.0. Don't exclude forums, don't exclude social networking, don't exclude free promotion. Even more, make it better.
I also happen to be a freelance web developer. If necessary, I would go for it and build a website that could take Wu's place on the internet. Anyone here wants to help? Be sure to let me know.
Mail to vikifeet@gmail.com with your ideas and opinions. If at least some of you think it's a good idea, let's do it. Just e-mail me.
Anyway, the better option would be for Wu to come back. Hope he's okay and this is just a huge hoax.
Expecting to hear from you

I like your outlook. This is a tough problem to tackle. My thoughts are: how do we
-keep all of the old legacy members in the loop -attract younger new members -create a cohesive place for everyone to congregate -keep it classy(unlike the mousepad) -integrate the MASS amount of media out there on Instagram/twitter/tumblr that dwarfs out photo section -give our hard working vendors a plug, hopefully exposing their material to an even larger audience -bring women back into the fold. (Face it, we only have a handful! Far from 2008 where we had 3 handfuls!)
Wu's was like Ancient Rome. All foot fetish roads lead here. Now it's like modern Rome...just a cool place to visit. How do we make Wu's the center of the foot fetish world again? It's not going to take classic thinking. I think revamped forum supported by a tumblr/twitter/Instagram that all easily refer to one another is the answer. If anyone has an example of a community that has accomplished please speak up!
Imagine if we brought in every guy/girl with a twitter, Instagram Facebook, tumblr, fetlife and brought them together? We'd be huge...far more so than our "glory days".
Posted by SlovakiaFeet (Member # 41844) on :
@GQguy I don't think that's a good idea. It's not even possible to bring it all to one place - not by far. The social media made it all too huge to be centralized. We could however provide a connection between all those "groups", like you said.
Firstly, I don't think that after we built it, it would be "Wu's" per se anymore. Many of current member won't like and just forget about it. Many would join in.
Younger members won't be an issue after integrating socials like twitter, tumblr, or instragram. Trust me. There will only be more of foot blogs and stuff from this day on. They almost never die out - just an example: We have reached 3K visits in 3 days on a tumblr blog. Not even a pornographic content.
The idea we could take from Wu's is to provide place for these new sites to be advertised. That's huge, really.
Concerning "classy", I guess this is just about anyone's opinion. I don't know mousepad personally.
Technically speaking, all the problems could be solved by just integrating Wu's idea into modern internet, with everything it contains.
My opninon about women shooting foot fetish sets: Guess it's all about how lucky you are or how much you pay her. I personally have a GF who loves me to take pictures of her feet, but she's not professional model (at least not yet). Anyway, with stuff like Instagram, I don't see any good way of getting women to shoot for us again. Maybe someone else's got some ideas?
As for the website idea, I'm in.

Yea not trying to says Wu's is dead but it is Ancient been a member since 2005 but really now you have Instagram & Tumblr to get ur foot fetish fix and most amateurs on there AREN'T afraid to show their face and for whatever reason when you see stuff on Instagram or Tumblr Wu's is rarely brought up if ever and that's pretty sad!
Posted by GQguy (Member # 16534) on :
I agree. One place isn't possible. But like my Rome analogy, I'd like Wu's to be the center of the foot fetish world. We're decentralized now.
Instagram could be our photo sharing wing. Vendors can set up shop there and refer people here for a better taste. Tumlr could act as our own individual profile sites. That way we get more character behind each avatar. I think there's a feeling of inherent creepiness that isn't avoided by simply being an avatar with a few characters. Having a full on profile showing off your other interest and hobbies will further humanize us as foot fetishist. And twitter could be used as a net to bring more people in. Be it just curious foot fetishist or the curious vanillas person wondering what our world is about.

The problem, (and I don't expect you personally to know about this since you don't know what it takes to run and market a paysite then or now), is that no matter how much marketing and "social networking" hoops a paysite manager/webmaster jumps through to promote his material, there's literally ZERO traffic kickback to his/her website that nets sales for the effort put forth. The people (entitled as they are) that congregate on social media blogs and sites go there in the first place to find free pics to jerk off to so they don't HAVE to pay money like the old fashioned way we brought this whole community and concept up on. Wu's was/is a good medium to share samples at to entice the potential buyer and already faithful to our respective sites into coming and buying the full set if they liked what we gave out for free. There's a huge disconnect in concepts you are overlapping here. Like plugging a square peg into a round hole. Social media is fun, but at the end of the day it doesn't "pay the bills" for established quality paysites. I have the site traffic reports from BHE to prove it too.

@NorcalFeetStudios: Don't take this the wrong way, but it is quite natural. You can't expect people to be paying, once they've got something for free. And although the "free stuff" lacks some of the "paid stuff" magic, you can't deny that with all the available technology today, even free pictures are great. And e.g. for me, foot selfies are especially attractive, knowing that they've been taken by the girl herself, not being paid for it. Just saying.
It is possible that this is the end of succesful paysites, unless someone can think of any rescue plan. But personally, I'd prefer not to stick to the old ways. You can't force people to live in the past, not on the internet, and especially not the youngsters.
I think that the question actually is, do we want to create a place with partially centralized foot fetish community because we like to browse, watch or comment on the pictures, or just because we want to make a living of it?

By the time all the paysites are dead, the internet will be controlled fully with a gov't kill switch anyway and you have to have a unique I.D. just to even log on to it..again, not a paysite owner? You probably are just guessing. There's still so many people that signup for just my site alone let alone all the others, by the numbers we are nowhere NEAR the end of this era. Everyone's panties are just up in a wad and so much conjecture and rumor being flung around like shit at the monkey exhibit at the zoo. The age of the paysite doesn't end because Wu decided to leave lol. No offense taken or given.

The truth. It's not even a conscious decision. I just haven't been tempted to see what's behind the closed doors. The coolest part about social media is that I can actually get to know the models! I've gotten phone numbers and communicate with a few. All of a sudden I'm not just some creep with a foot fetish...she gets to see me for what everyone in my world sees me. I think that's the coolest part.
@Norcal. I would assume the widest dissemination of you material would attract the largest audience. With Wu's practically locked down, who sees your stuff? Just old guys. And us old guys are getting jobs, having live in girlfriends, mortgages, wives and kids. Paying that $29.99 becomes harder and harder to justify...even if we can afford it. How many of us have been billed a couple months just because we forgot?
But if you have a steady stream of customers that's great. We're brainstorming. From the sounds of things there are other producers that could use a bump in exposure. It blows my mind hat the average college foot fetishist doesn't even know what FM Concepts is.....the biggest foot fetish site on the web. Let alone many of our BHE jewels. Such the modern situation.
But maybe you're right. Maybe the thousands of foot fetishist out there are not inclined to buy. Maybe it's just us here that do it out of respect....brand loyalty. I'd subscribe for a couple of months to a store I was loyal too....check it a couple of times...and forget. Opt for the non recurring membership.
Maybe the business model is antiquated itself. I mean it was based off of the premise that foot fetish wasn't common and women had to be bribed to model. The lack of content on the net(low supply) created a high demand from us foot lovers. Social media has crushed that assertion so yes....there's a lot of free stuff(supply) flooding the market. Not even that. I have an archive of stuff going back to the last time my hard drive broke back in 2005. I've subscribed to many sites. That's a lot of shit. I could unplug from the net and see "new" content for years. For those of us that have opened up our wallets..there's definitely an oversupply.
Posted by SlovakiaFeet (Member # 41844) on :
@NorcalFeet You're right, I'm just guessing. I'm trying to figure out how such a market is or would work on modern internet. Now and in the nearest future.
I'm glad to hear you've got enough customers, I wish you good luck. Nevertheless, you can't deny that Wu's (or in fact, any kind of) advertising is and always will be helpful.
What we're trying to figure out is to whether it is worth it to recreate a place where anyone could advertise his websites/stores for free, or, if it comes to that, reasonably small fee. A place where at least most of active internet foot fetishists could always come to, see what's new. Place offers and requests, perhaps? Anything.
A place powered by its own mechanics and supplied by the social media. I don't know about you, but it sounds to me like a great idea.
So how about that?
Posted by Feetosopher (Member # 45909) on :
In my modest opinion, and leaving aside all the (interesting) IT and communication technicalities, the TRUE, and probably UNSOLVABLE issue in the whole affair is conciliating the contrasting interests of the following stakeholders: 1) guys & gals only seeking visibility for their zero-cost stuff (whatever its quality) 2) guys & gals who enjoy surfing the web for free stuff, and would NEVER accept to pay for "equivalent" (to their eyes at least) stuff 3) guys & gals who bear costs to produce "quality stuff" (to their eyes at least), and want these to be covered (fully or at least in part) by revenues from sales 4) guys & gals who can see in the stuff made by the guys & gals at point 3 some "extra quality" over free stuff, and are willing to pay for it.
If someone in this forum has any clues about a way to square the above circle, I will make a ground-level bow to him/her.. but I am afraid that this "Messiah of 21st century foot-related media" won't show up that soon.. (sorry, SlovakiaFeet.. nothing personal, but I am afraid that you cannot qualify for such status..)

While I do agree that the explosion of social media makes people perhaps less likely to join Wu's and be active here, I would think it can also have seriously strong benefits for websites that seek subscribers.
In the past, their marketing was relegated to posting banners on others' sites or posting previews here on Wu's - pretty passive. Now, they can utilize Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Model Mayhem, FetLife, etc. (let alone other "social" video sites like FFT) to get their name out there.
True, there is more content overall out there so everyone competes on a grander scale, but all it takes is having that "ONE" model that appeals to people as seen through one of these social media channels to inspire someone to buy a subscription or clip.
Posted by SlovakiaFeet (Member # 41844) on :
@Feetosopher: Truly worth your nickname. You're of course right - those are the issues. But I really don't think they can be actually solved one day. All we can hope for is a consensus. To gather all those kinds of people, and see what happens.
One thing to realize is this: People with foot fetish are still a minority. Let alone those who have such strong feelings about feet, that they're willing to pay for stuff. Compared to this group, all those people who like to take foot pics and just post them together form a group way larger. Therefore it is natural and only natural, that even if you make 100.000 people see the stuff you're offering them to buy, only very small percentage will actually go for it.
What I was offering here was just an option. A possible attempt to a solution. Not a definite, ultra-solution. I say we try, and see what happens. Am I wrong?

Actually, about 2% of the free pics are "good or great". Maybe it's just my eye for detail and perfection saying that. But wait, I heard it also from many others, so it's not just me.

Wu's registration is the only thing locked down, and the current traffic I get from here dwarfs social media hits. The stats don't really agree with your reasons as to the signups and rebills. It's not about who can and can't afford it, alot of times it's about convenience or a particular affection for a staple model. I did the polls last year and men want to see the same few models over and over and not different, random ones all the time. It's not even about justifying $30, it's also about seeing angles of feet and pretty girls they can't see in everyday life doing those things with their feet, so they are happy to pay that. I have nearly 8 years of photo and video archives. Even BHE tells me I am under-charging for the amount of material I have on Norcalfeet.
quote: But maybe you're right. Maybe the thousands of foot fetishist out there are not inclined to buy. Maybe it's just us here that do it out of respect....brand loyalty. I'd subscribe for a couple of months to a store I was loyal too....check it a couple of times...and forget. Opt for the non recurring membership.
I'd say alot ARE inclined to buy, I see new names signing up I have never seen before every 2 weeks all the time. I doubt it's out of respect or brand loyalty as much as it's the time and effort we put out to make a product look nice for the customer.
quote: Maybe the business model is antiquated itself. I mean it was based off of the premise that foot fetish wasn't common and women had to be bribed to model. The lack of content on the net(low supply) created a high demand from us foot lovers. Social media has crushed that assertion so yes....there's a lot of free stuff(supply) flooding the market.
Like I said, all of us producers still are showing numbers that disprove that first statement. You're still seeing things from a biased point of view towards free, sub-par material on Facebook. The only lack of content (as time goes by) are professional photos like some of us bring to the table and your ilk take and rub the watermarks off them and call them their own. It's such a murky area and the premise will die off eventually if the gov't ever gets off their ass and enforces piracy to the fullest extent of the law.

Absolutely, there's no reason why the two cannot mingle and mix concepts and share so as it doesn't infringe on copyright laws and does not take away business from the artists and producers, and some of the models who rely on MY INCOME, from CUSTOMERS so they can use their time pleasing you guys. When all the pay sites stop supplying the "foot chain", the social media empire will crumble to it's knees no matter how many selfies some girls take of themselves. 80% or better of shared photos on social media are from paysites or side projects of producers OF paysites and their friends. So be careful, what you guys wish for.

I already mentioned this in a previous post. I get very little if ANY traffic from social media sites I share on. This is a great theory though, and I wish it were true! No matter how many "LIKES" a producer gets they never equate to signups. Of 50 or 100 likes on Facebook on any particular model of mine, maybe 1 or 2 new signups pop up that came from that marketing avenue.

@NorcalFeet: Just so we understand each other - I don't support piracy and have no intentions of taking your business away or stole from your websites. That's poor.
On the contrary, my idea was to bring together stuff for foot fetishists, just as, perhaps, some "model material" for professional photographers.
I guess we'll only see once someone does it.

Language barrier lol, trust me I wasn't worried about business being taken away. I am down for such sight where we can connect the two worlds and cross market, but will remain skeptical because the two concepts are diametrically opposed to each other in theory of customer base and intention.

You can get em. It's a < 1% conversion rate. You have to be constantly updating.
Posted by SlovakiaFeet (Member # 41844) on :
Twitter is probably a better choice than Facebook, true. But I wouldn't underestimate the power of any social networ - granted, the conversion rates will be low. But regarding the number of people seeing your advertising, even 1% can make a difference.
The problem with Facebook is, that it's too public. Some people may not like presenting their fetish on Facebook, and, frankly, fake FB accounts just to keep up with foot updates are quite annoying.

Am I wrong?
OK dude.. let's reason about it.
STARTING POINT: we live in two "enemy camps". You seem to be happy with visibility (for now at least), as you shoot your GF's (great!) peds for free.. in my case, visibility is just a mean to get someone to subscribe to my sites.. because you see, getting one hundred or so of beautiful barefooting girls to show their faces, dirty feet, and (in my BAREFOOT NUDITY website) also TITS, PUSSY & ASS has cost me A LOT OF MONEY over the last 10 years..
YOUR IDEA: no matter the starting point (see above), you and I (and other dudes like you and vendors like me, I suppose) should "cooperate".. OK dude.. what can you offer to me? And what can I do for you? Wanna reblog my stuff and promote my sites? Cool, feel free to do so! I have got THREE blogs on Tumblr (and two more in Italian).
BUT.. there is a PROBLEM! As you can see, two of my blogs contain MUCH MORE THAN BARE FEET.. and this is exactly the stuff of mine which goes strong, and which has the best market outlook.. have you got the guts of featuring on your nice Tumblr blog some dirty-soled "pornographic content" (as you have called it.. to me it's "erotica")??? NO??? Then.. I am afraid that you have NOTHING to offer to me, dude.. To me, the TRUE value added of Wu's Feet Links contributions page (and with way less effectiveness, also of this forum's "Adult Content" section) is exactly this.. NUDITY IS ALLOWED!!! And I can show it EXACTLY to the people who want to see it combined with FEET.. and I don't have to fight for visibility with the FLOOD of posts by chaps who - like you - are just happy with people getting horny at the sight of their GF's peds..
Best of success for your blog, anyway.. and a low bow to your GF's gorgeous feet.. I wonder whether the rest of her is equally exciting.. Ciao from Italy!

Why is this thread arguing about whether people will pay for pay sites? Obviously people do whether or not Wu's is around. This conversation has derailed so bad.
As for social media not bringing in traffic, I got quite the bump when I made a Twitter account. Then someone told me to make an Instagram and I rolled my eyes. Not another social media account to keep up with. But I did and another bump. Then I decided to go ahead and move my columns off site and convert it into a blog. Another bump. If people read up on how to Tweet and blog for search engines, you'll do just fine - believe me.
If you're looking at social media as some guy just jacking off to free pics and not signing up, then what do you think your contributions, feature sets, and forum posts have encouraged over the years? That's a silly statement because all of it will be used and abused in the same manner. I pretty much post the same exact stuff here as I do there. Not like I'm giving away anything else.
My biggest love of the social media is the interaction with fans and members. It's easy and with Twitter, it's short and sweet!

I personally (if anyone really cares) would hate if the current bulletin board site ended up some social media site. For the cats that dig it, great...but I woulndt be bothered with setting up bogus accounts just so I can see some free pics.
At least here things are self contains...social media can be aggregated and content isolated...which could work against someone.
Now back to saving Wus ....Fair Adam...any luck with seeing if bhm may put the site in a custodialship? Hoping Wu didn't have to pay for webspace. If we can do it we should try to...the earlier the better!

The difference is contribs, feature sets, and forum posts at Wu's bring in 100 times more hits and business than the same amount of time invested in marketing through social (entitled) media. I have the BHE stat reports to prove it. BTW, I have seen more pirated and de-watermarked photos from SOS than any other site out there. That Russian site vacuumed your whole site and has every photo set you've ever shot for free.

I don't know how in the fuck people use that twitter. It just looks like a bunch of retarded fucking gibberish to me. When I first heard the term hash tag I thought it was something cool like a dog tag style sort of locket to stash your hash in during the summer if you're going swimming or wearing shorts with no pockets. Then I found out it was some type of Twitter slang.
I liked myspace back in the day and I like forums. I made a facebook, actually my sister made it for me back in the day to get me with the times but I haven't logged into it in months because I find it way too annoying. Twitter is where I draw the line. I will never register a twitter account so help me God because it doesn't even make sense. On a hockey forum I go on, someone posted a link to a twitter conversation between a couple of players supposedly trash talking each other and I near had an aneurism trying to follow a simple discussion. Fucking stupid. That fetlife is pretty cool though, I must say I enjoy that site a fair bit as while the interaction here has slowed, I find it's fairly active over there. I dunno, I guess I'm just old school. This twitter stuff doesn't strike me as the least bit cutting edge or intuitive, but rather the further devolution of the English language and an absurd form of communication. Ignorance on my part in some ways I suppose but I think I'd rather be ignorant than down right fucking retarded.

I bet you anything that Wu has been "taken" by French traffickers and the only man that can bring him back is Bryan Mills.
But seriously, the topic is really going nowhere if we are turning this into a discussion about the pros and cons of social media. Then again, I'm too crazy about Twitter, myself.

Well Patrick.. my modest opinion is that each webmaster/shooter has his/her own experience and possibilities concerning the use of social media as a promotional tool.. what works for you, may not work for others. In my case, as my flagship site features explicit female nudity and overtly sexual conduct, I cannot use many social networks effectively. For this reason, I find most social networks less effective than Wu's contribs page (and, to a smaller extent, also than the "adult content" section of this forum) as a promotional tool for MY PAYSITE.. not for ANY PAYSITE.
This said.. I have always believed in the "live and let live" philosophy.. there's room for everybody.. including "I-wanna-wank-for-free" web surfers! I do not consider chatting with fans on Facebook or DeviantART a waste of time.. even if most of the guys & gals flooding my stuff with enthusiastic comments will not spend a dime to join my sites.. I mean, money is welcome, but money alone won't make me feel an appreciated footographer in my market niches..
A final remark.. this thread may well have "derailed".. but IMHO it has brought to light a TRAINLOAD of interesting facts and views about contemporary foot-focused adult entertainment.. to ME, this is extremely useful.. personal opinion, of course!
All the best from Italy!

Actually, I see most of your newer models posted and reposted for free all over. I personally don't see the need to offer everything for free....AND have a paysite. It's taking money out of your pocket..but if that is your business model, you'll certainly have the traffic. As for me, the only thing that pisses me off about photo sharing is the fact guys cut/crop and photoshop the watermarks off them then repost as if they shot the pic themselves. Why not take the original photo and post it? We both still get credit for sharing. God knows I love to share a whole lot more photos than just 3 each time I post, I am very giving in that respect..

Really? It seems like in your megathread, you are posting one picture at a time just for the sake of bumping your signature spam with the hidden intention of increasing visitors to your website. Even worse is that I see how you've removed many of the watermarks or reversed the image backwards to obscure the credit from the original photographer(s), contrary to your own pet peeves.

That may be true for you, but as Patrick said, he has done just fine combining social media outlets into his photo sharing. Just because it doesn't work well for you doesn't mean it can't work well for others.
For instance, there are a number of feet producers out there who have embraced technology as it became available. Look at guys like CaliforniaBeachFeet for instance. The foot community has been getting great picture quality and hi-def videos for years because of his leading-edge mentality. And nowadays we are seeing more interactive communities as a result of social web technologies. It will be the adaptive pioneers who embrace these concepts who will also be the ones sharing material for the longer term. Do not discount what the future holds. And never forget to learn from the past NorCal. There is much there that can help you!

This has absolutely nothing to do with your point about social media causing the demise of the contemporary paysite model. Patrick has worked diligently to keep from hanging his hat on one marketing outlet. That is why he is well postured to last for the long run and it also appears to be part of why he has a great eye for feet photography -- it's called attention to detail!

My intentions were never to start arguments about person 1's way versus person 2's way. Everyone has success doing what they do. To me, sharing what I already have here on Instagram and Twitter doesn't hurt me. Wu, by far gets more freebies to post via contributions than what I post on social media. Social media isn't a way to share free pictures, but be social. I've networked with many people I never saw here, although that has happened here as well. I've met a handful of models there and increased my awareness because of it. Integrating my blog into it has been nothing short of fun for me. And Instagram has allowed me to offer teasers from location as well as throw up numerous flashbacks - pretty much all of which were already a contribution here.
To me, Wu's is soooooooooooo much more than this forum and I hope it returns some day - just not in some corporate fashion.

I made it pretty clear, as it's clear to the average person with deductive reasoning that the photos there aren't mine and I don't take credit for them. I bump my own thread because I like to contribute to the community and share rare finds most people haven't ever seen before. But now since you mentioned it twice that you like the thread so much, I will bump it even more. Funny how you seem to know all about the photos in the thread, if it was such an annoying thread why comb through it and find the useless imperfections? I post them as I have saved them on my hard drive...if it's reversed by mistake, I'm sure they can flip it if I didn't catch it and see who it's from. Not rocket science.

So you must agree with my view on Social Media being a killer to the Paysite model? You keep stating the obvious but I was merely reminding him (off topic) that his site is probably the most pirated behind BeachFeet. Does it matter to you that I bring that up? And why? FFS
FWIW--I have Twitter and Facebook pages for Norcalfeet, and I actually use them all the time because I do know that 1% may actually decide to buy the full set through my Images4sale store OR go to the website which is even more of a good bargain and spend $30 for 7 years of archives. Again, not rocket science and I will play to whatever customers I can get. I don't have to agree with their ideas about free pics, but I sure can reach into their pockets

This is (potentially) sad news indeed. Wu's was the 1st forum i found & have stayed with. Mousepad the other, though i havent posted there in years. In fact, i cant recall the last time i was on there! I loved coming here & seeing the latests contributions from the likes of Nikki, or Lexi & the likes of Californiabeachfeet always amazed me with the quality & clarity of their photos. I didnt get a digital camera until the night before the Stones Melbourne show in 2003. The 1st pic i took on my 1mp Casio was of my wife's tits. The 2nd pic, my wifes toes. And i guess its true. These days, there is just so much other places for female feet. And truth be told, i only come here once a week or so. Sometimes maybe every couple of weeks. There are just so many other options now. Tumblr, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter (Though i dont do twitter). I remember meeting Mummy Dearest on good old Myspace. Along with Amber & Twisted Toes. Times change, and i hope Wu is just taking a break. The forums here are what i still love. Though i really enjoy, and appreciate the offerings of the "pros" like Patrick, Norcal & toes in action etc, i still get a kick out of the (usually) crappy offerings from us mere mortals. I still really dig the average every day chick sticking her foot up for some "weirdo" like us to snap a photo. I still support new dudes who post "Do you like my g/f's/wifes/co-workers feet?". I dont post so much as the old wifey is kinda over it. Plus we got a few nasty comments over the times that made me thought "Bugger this" and i post on other sites who really gave positive responses. The girls have come and gone. I thought Lexi & Nikki would never stop. I thought Mommy Dearest was going to be in action for ever. And here was the place where the models would interact with us. Tina, Malory, Mommy - all wonderfully nice ladies who replied to your posts. Tina in particular was really friendly. Babie Gurl was another who was friendly gal. This was a good place for the celeb feet too. Lord Lucan got the best stuff & mostly in super sized hi def pix. Anyway, what ever happens happens. Been nice sharing & watching stuff from you guys.

I sure as hell don't want to rely on tumblr blogs to get by, which seem to have an amazingly short lifespan of a couple of weeks to a few months. We've all seen the cycle happen: Girl posts a picture of her feet, gets likes, posts more pictures until the anons and creepers scare her away and turn her off from foot fetish forever.
Wu's lasted over a decade, and the better part of a second. Even if it's becoming more apparent that ourdays here are numbered, we've accomplished something that no blog or twitter account will ever achieve: longevity.

Wu's lasted over a decade, and the better part of a second. Even if it's becoming more apparent that ourdays here are numbered, we've accomplished something that no blog or twitter account will ever achieve: longevity.
That happens everywhere, not just on Tumblr. How many of the "foot girls" still post here regularly?

It might all just disappear one day
Exactly that has happened to many websites over the years.
I don't want this to happen. But if Wu does not return, then this is what very probably *will* happen at some point.

We should really discuss a backup plan just in case the worst happens.
There's got to be a webmaster who wouldn't mind creating a site like Wus. It's also have the added benefit of promoting whatever other foot website they have running (ex. Patrick with SolesofSilk). And I don't think it'd be counter-business for Patrick to have a website like Wus that acts a central hub to other foot related content as well as his own website. I'm not saying that Patrick is the man, I'm just using him as an example.
The new website could be more up-to-date with tech trends for the hipster guys out there, too.
Before someone says, "Well, GirlGotSole, why don't you do it?" Because I have no webmaster experience nor do I already have a foot fetish website with a stake in the game.
But we need to plan now in case. If the website just dies, everyone will be scattered and it'll be almost impossible to regroup.

I'm honored that you'd mention me, but I don't think I'd be the one to do this for numerous reasons, such as:
- The reason I do Soles of Silk is because it's something I've always done. It was a hobby that I couldn't afford to post for free, so Soles of Silk was born out of a few years of freebie web sites while in college. I still treat this like a hobby and don't dedicate my entire week to it. This is why I update once a week. Even though I give enough items in a single update to warrant just updating every other day, it's just easier for me to do it all at once.
- I work a real job that does some long hours many days of the week. I also do social media, advertising, and promotion for them on top of it, so I don't think my schedule has an opening for something as cumbersome as a site like this one would be.
- I'm not fully convinced that Wu will just ignore everyone forever. Sooner or later he's going to contact one of us, or BHE will mention to me what's going on. Until then, the forum part of this site lives on with its existing members until WE let it die.

No worries, Patrick! I was just using you as an example of a webmaster that is well known/liked/connected with the community.
I just don't want to log on one day, see Wus is gone, and then not know where to go or what to do with my foot fetish.

OK, here I go again; I am making a comment because I would like to see the site live on. IMO, this thread is an example of what is wrong with this forum...Talk and more talk. Wether Wu is with us or not, does not matter as much as the lack of participation by the amateur community in posting pics of female feet. Lets face it, female feet pics is why we show up here. Again, there are only a few people that made the effort to post pics and I feel that there is a failure of other members to even acknowledge that effort of the few that do post.. This has led to a decline in posting of pics by husbands and boyfriends. I think this site is in trouble because of apathy in regards to participation by the membership.

While I see logic in this statement, I also don't find it to be 100 percent the way I feel. People on here have posted like gang busters and then faded away since the forum opened. Just right now we haven't had a new member approved since January 1, 2014 so you're not getting anyone new either.
Even some of the popular ladies of the forum came and went. Some came again and went again. Some began posting here first, got a following and then stopped. You can find some on some other social media outlets, but even there some of them slowed down too. It has to be a passion.
One of the biggest complaints I hear about posting here for the average person is that they have to find an image host, then use link code to post their photo. Sometimes they don't do it in the correct forum and it doesn't show (that's their own fault, but still annoying to people who are lazy), or the image host doesn't allow linking to here (which a few don't). It's not rocket science, but it sure isn't as easy as most places to post images these days.
Just some food for thought. Not saying your wrong, just adding some of my experiences and interactions with people behind the scenes.

Yeah, this. If it is more difficult than it should be to post pictures here, and it is easier elsewhere, then people are gonna do it where it's easier.

ON TOPIC: I hope Wu's isn't going to die. This site is a second home to me. I check it more than any other website.
I have webmaster experience and have designed many non foot-related websites before. I would LOVE to make a site like Wu's, as a backup of course, but I just don't have the money or time to devote into it.
OFF TOPIC: I used to post pictures several times a week on a couple other forums, but hardly ever would anyone comment on anything. I tried to post on here and I got little to no feedback still. The lack of commentary ruins the models desire to continue, as some of them enjoy being desired for something most guys wouldn't take a second look at.
I even have a free site with advertising ONLY on here. Not once have I had any comments, requests, or donations (which I would use to upgrade my Photobucket account for the extra bandwidth). It surely doesn't help when people show up and copy a stage name, causing confusion.

I posted often too, but as I said, wifey is over it and all the other girls I knew are out of my life or old bats. Like I'm a spring chicken!
The dedication many of us have to sharing the feet experience with each others pales into what Wu has done. Which makes me think his passion is maybe higher than many of us. That sort of passion doesn't just die of fade away. Something must have come up in his life at the moment. Heck, maybe he's in jail for "upskirting"??? lol
Social media has changed as well. But I like this old style set up. If Wu goes, we should just go over to mousepad & start our own thread to keep together until some thing is figured out. If he HAS gone, then this site will obviously be shut down sooner or later.

Like many of those who have already posted, I hope that Wu is okay and will soon return to updating the forum.
As far as social media goes…
I enjoy Instagram. Posting and viewing are both a breeze, and it's easy to select whose image feeds I'd like to follow.
My biggest problem with the service is the rampant image theft/misuse. People repost images from the web and other Instagrammers without first asking and receiving permission, and some even add their own watermark before doing so.
How low is that?

It sucks, but that was happening on sites long ago as well. People like that exist all over.

fresh it and make it mobile and it's half way done! simply WU's forums have not evolved according to these days trends!

This is just a humble opinion of an average user on WUs due to all of this mess about Wu being IDLE for awhile. I have had a great experience being in WU for many years since i was a Kid, it was the first place where i could find friendly, decent people to talk about something i liked and considered abnormal until then, a nice place to SHARE experiences and Pictures ( because we have to admit how much we like to share our ladies feet ). So, gathering the main words i mentioned before: SHARE, PICTURES, TALK and LADIES i ask you guys how possible could it be to create a group in social media for US, "the WUs People" , i mean groups on WHATSAPP, BBM, TELEGRAM, or someone of that kind of social networks where we can Chat and Share pictures, make it more direct, faster, easier and needing less time than running a whole new site... it can even be a parallel activity to WU forums. Lets see what you guys think... im up for it!
