Had nothing to do last night and two friends of mine asked me if I wanted to go see Where the Wild Things Are at the movies. I really had no desire to see this movie, but had nothing to do, so I went.
During the movie there are some quick foot references and a little scene that shows what some believe to be the start of a foot fetish in kids. The main scene is during a phone call the boy's mother has about her job. She is frustrated with the person on the phone as she sits at her computer. Her son comes downstairs and tries to make her laugh and feel better. When it doesn't work, he lays on the ground, down by her stocking clad feet. There is then a close up of him pinching the seem along the toe of her stockings and him playing with them for a few seconds.
Later on, while with the monsters, the word foot or feet is used a few times. The one I can remember is when the main monster the boy takes a liking too says that he was going to eat his own feet off.
As we've discussed in the past, maybe we only notice this stuff because we have foot fetishes. Then again, maybe the person making the movie in some capacity does too and writes in little scenes like that. I know as an artist I'd always try to sneak little clues about my fetish whenever possible.

P.S. This sort of thing happened in Paranormal Activity as well with quite a few sole shots of the main female character, even going to the point where her boyfriend filmed her feet and says how much he loves them.

Now I'm dying to see "Paranormal Activity." I hope the feet we're talking about are cute ones, though.
