Poor grammar killed it thats the way it goes with everything i fear there is no way around it when people refuse to use punctuation a chat room cannot sustain itself

lmao, Pjay! Very true, but alongside that comes the fact is the female to male ratio. It would be nice to chat with a roomful of people of equal sex to make things more interesting. Not a sausage fest. lol

Another thing I would suspect to its demise is the fact that not many people knew about it as much. Could have been a language barrier or just different work schedules that might have contributed to its occasional onesies and twosies in the room.

Plus I never really noticed. People seemed to type decent English.

omg andy.. i know they say that the english sense of humor is dry, but c'mon man! he's been busting on numerous posters within the last week even about the lack of grammar and punctuation by using their style.

maybe you could ask athena when people are making jokes or when they are serious.

(btw, i am joking too just so you dont get all pissed off [Tongue] )

Hahahahaha thank GOD! I saw him posting like this on another thread. Ok.

And sarcasm is hard to convey over the internet!
And as long as I can read it without too much text speak and it flows well, I don't really care if it's poor grammar

It was just the way he was hypocritisising-ical [Smile]

I would've thought the wink emoticon at the end of Pjay's original post about the grammar and punctuation was enough to tip everyone off that he was being sarcastic.

Then again, I can be one sarcastic bastard myself, which is why I instantly picked up on it and no further explanation was needed.

But, back on point...

I never used the chat room. I find my interaction with posting to be enough and just had no interest in going in there.

I give my sincere thanks to those who stepped up to explain that I was, indeed, being sarcastic.

Anyone who doubts can just look through my other posts--I tend to be quite technical and formal in my typography, so the contrast between my run-of-the-mill post and the one above should appear quite stark. [Smile]

I'm all about maintaining standards... It aggrieves me to see people posting in "txt spk" or whatever term they may use for it now. I've even read articles that say that students nowadays sometimes turn in term papers what that crap in them, as though that should fly in the academic world!! [Roll Eyes]

...turn in term papers [what] that crap in them,...

Proofread much? Don't throw stones.
