Fantasy, especially if not bounded by reality (in other words, you've never experienced it) can be extremely heady. Unfortunately I've found that the fantasy can often surpass the reality.
I'll often get quite horny and aroused planning sexual activites to do with my wife, but often the reality just doesn't happen the way I fantasized about it. In some case I fantasize about things she'd never do- that can be extremely arousing.

This is an interesting question that really has me thinking. I'm of the type that likes to keep my fantasies bounded by reality. I have found that a lot of things that seem cool in a dream world are either repulsive or boring in the real world. At one point I was saying that dreams have to be a counterpoint to reality.
