Should they be worn above the knuckle or at the base of the toe? I have seen them both ways and I was wondering what opinion other people had. Personally, I think it depends on the length and shape of the toes wearing them.

My wife's rings fit past the knuckle snug with the base of the toe. Her toes are fairly long so that's how they fit best on her.

My first impulse is to say that they should be worn at the base of the toe. With further thought, I have seen them worn both just above or just below the knuckle with great effect. I guess it depends on the wearer, the ring, and the shapes of the toes and feet. Wish I could be more helpful than that.

Funny, though finger rings are worn at the base of the finger, I've always seen most toe rings worn in the middle of the toe, which is what I prefer to see. That's where my wife wears her fitted ones.

With toe rings, I've seen them worn both at the knuckle of the toe and at the base of the toe. Personally, I think it depends more on the comfort level of the woman wearing them. Some find it fine with the toe ring on the knuckle while other's find it annoying or that it "doesn't feel right". The same can be said with wearing a toe ring at the base of the toe.

Excellent point, and very true. Though I believe my wife asked me about my visual preference for toe ring location before she measured them to order custom fit rings, she had worn some adjustable ones before for me and said that she much preferred the middle of the toe versus the base of the toe. She's got nice long toes, so she actually has three thin bands on the second toe of each foot. They look great and they don't bother her at all.

Thanks for the input gents;) feetluvr, I agree with your wife, custom fits are more comfortable than adjustable. I generally don't wear toe rings in day-to-day life, I just wear them for some of my pictures. But then I saw LaDaemon's "Sole Lovers" thread with the picture of the french pedicure with the silver and blue ring on the middle toe and I decided I want to go get one like it and start wearing it around, it was SO pretty!

Seems to be a pretty well known fact, at least that's what all the folks that sell custom fits will tell you. But it did seem to be true in my wife's case, they just weren't comfortable.

Surprised, and sad, to hear that. Though your feet are perfectly beutiful without them, they look so good with the additional adornment.

VERY glad to hear that. Look forward to seeing it!

i wear mine at the base, but sometimes if they r a bit loose they do move up a little, but i find them more comfy at the base of the toe. xxxxxxxxxx

My collection of toe rings allows me to wear them both ways ... though I prefer the ones that fit above the knuckle.
