Usually it can be frustrating, but it depends on your actual point of view I guess.
The girl I dated all through high school gave me a photo of her at the beach once and she was sitting indian style. The photographer (her GF) was standing right in front of her looking down, so it provided a good view of her feet.
But no doubt that many times it does cause problems with viewing their feet.

Just yesterday, while studying for an exam in the library, this cute girl sat Indian style on the chair and it gave me grrreat view of her petite silky soft soles, but I guess if you're not a sole guy you might not like "indian style" sitting that much.

I'm definitely a sole guy, but I'm an even bigger footplay lover. Indian Style sitting nullifies any potential footplay. When I see a woman sitting at a desk, I want to see her with her with her feet on the floor and her ankle crossed with one foot rubbing the other one!

Do you mean Indian Style sitting or footplay? Sitting Indian Style means sitting crossed legged having your legs folded underneath you as you sit.
