I haven't bought one since my high school days like five years ago, but I have to admit going up to the counter and plopping down a foot fetish mag definitely felt awkward to me. Anyone else can relate to what I'm talking about?

what stores sell foot fetish mags?

Yeah, I can relate to that.

As many times as I have bought magazines and videos (both on VHS and DVD), I can't say I was ever completely comfortable just walking up to the counter and buying them. The first few times I did that were absolutely nerve racking for me. I remember scoping out a couple of foot magazines at a porn shop for the first time and couldn't believe they actually had something like that on the shelf. Then, I made sure no one was looking as I eyed the magazines I wanted to get.... Then, made sure no one in the store was looking at me taking the magazines out of the rack.... Then, made sure no one was looking at me as I made my way up to the counter (holding the magazines low and close to me so no one would see what magazines I was buying). Forget making eye contact with the guy behind the counter ringing everything up! Although the guy put the stuff in a plain paper bag and no one could see what was inside, I felt like the whole world knew what was in the bag once I got outside in public.

As time went on, it got progressively easier the more I did it. I haven't been to a porn shop in a few years now with there being so much foot fetish related stuff online. However, even after going into porn shops for about 10 years, I felt much less awkward than my first few times, but never completely comfortable.

I would feel awkward buying ANY kind of porn in a store

True story....

Back in high school I would regulary buy mags like "Leg Show" or "Leg Action" at a local gas station. I would always look forward to the monthly release of these mags and would make my way to purchase them, always making sure I went in when traffic was slow or non-existant as I was always nervous as hell.

The magazines were behind the counter so you had to tell the cashier which you wanted and he'd pull them from the rack, place them on the counter and ring it up. This was always nerve racking as I would look to make sure no one I knew was in site while the cashier (always moving slower than a turtle) was ringing them up.

One fatefull day I enter the gas station as I notice no one was in there (or so I thought). I ask for the mags and the cashier places them on the counter to ring them up. As he's doing so I get a tap on the shoulder. I turn around and it's my girlfriends mom, who also happened to be one of my mom's good friends. [Eek!]

After turning fifteen shades of red, we exchanged in some small talk. Her eyes made their way to the counter where she saw the magazines and gave a little smile. I excused myself quickly and got the hell out of there (magazines in tow) as fast as I could. I don't think she ever mentioned it to my mom, but everytime I saw this lady, she would give me a knowing smile.

That was a rough situation, let me tell you.

Great story Longhitter!

I haven't bought many magazines since I got my internet connection in the early 90s. I do remember the awkward feeling of shopping in this one periodical shop called "The Newstand" which carried every magazine in print it seemed. In the front of the store was the normal things like "Life", "Time", "Guitar World", etc. but around the corner with a large security mirror over looking it was all the porno stuff. Most people going in there seemed to migrate to that area after pretending to browse through the "legit" magazines. Myself included. [Laugh] It seems like I would spend a half hour in the front of the shop finding a regular magazine before getting the nerve to make my way to the back to pick up the latest issue of LegShow and then go to the counter to pay for both.

Of course shopping for that stuff now is pointless with what you can find here on the net in the privacy of your home. Plus there is tons more material here geared toward your particular foot kink rather than a few magazines that may touch on the foot topic.

That type of scenario kind of sums up the last few times I bought any foot related magazines in a news shop. They had the legit stuff up front but in the back of the store was the "less than desirable" magazines. I would do the exact same thing - hang in the sections and browse the normal stuff and then slowly make my way back to the other section! Once there, I would linger for awhile as well until traffic near the cashier was very little or non-existent, then hurry up to the cashier and pay for the magazines I had picked out and got out of there before anyone was the wiser.

As you pointed out, with so much that's avaliable online, why bother buying magazines anymore?

I haven't bought one in years, since it's cheaper online and there's more selection, but I've never felt awkward purchasing or renting foot porn.

It never bothered me much. Who cares what the person behind the register thinks.

Hey longhitter,

True, but it was still mortifying none the less.

As soon as I got home I called my girlfriend to tell her about it, and she exploded in laughter. The more I tried to tell her that it wasn't funny, the more she laughed. At least someone found it amusing at the time.

in public, yeah, but if it's thru privacy of internet and masked snail mail, I compromise my embarrassment real quick.

i think back to a time in blockbuster video where i was laughed at by the clerk when I was renting a barefoot aerobics tape late on some saturday night [Wink]

I never wanna go thru that again, since there were people behind me in line

That's what the Net is for.

I used to before the internet. It was awkward at first. The hardest thing was not to get spotted by anyone u knew. Also keeping it hidden was hard.

In the UK the only mag you can get from a regular store is Leg Sex which im not really into anyway as im into just barefeet. I have bought it on occasion and then its a case of keeping your eyes down and never making eye contact with the person behind the counter ( who is always a old woman!). Im totally ok going into a adult store as everyone in there is all after the same thing - sex mags and DVDs. As other people have commented thanks to the net where you can buy what you want when you want usually at a better price for dvds there is little point going into those places now.

I'd first like to state that yea,we do have the net now,but theres something about owning and having a mag or a dvd that net can not give you.I buy foot videos atleast 1ce a month, maybe more, depending on where I am,nyc is once again infested with porn stores,so its hard not to.
anyways,do I have shame??not @ all.some stores carry animal porn so I doubt buyin foot movies is the strangest thing they see.not to mention most of them are forigners who I doubt look @ nothing more than the price.
but the main reson I don't mind what people may think when I buy foot porn is cause theres soo much stuff weirder than footporn that we seem mundane compared to a lot of things people are into.wich is the least twisted out of this bunch foot fetish, trannies, water sports, scatt,or animals?? think about that next time your in a porn store

Oddly enough, I never felt awkward. I was just surprised they sold foot mags at porn stores, and usually in 2-3 paks, too (back issues, usually). I did get ANNOYED once. When I bought Serenity's Foot Fantasy the guy looked at the package confused then gave a loud, quick chuckle when he read the title of it as he rung it up.

I can relate to this too. I mean man it's a trip. I would go in there and just feel so weird-when I KNEW there were people in their buying stuff that was off the wall. The real freaky stuff. I would feel so awkward buying mags and renting videos. But I forced myself to get over it cause there was no reason to be ashamed. I rationalized that the clerks who worked there probably had been used to seeing people buying all kinds of porn so why should I be any different?

But I still made sure to go in hella late at night, at the one on the other side of town to avoid seeing anyone I knew though-but I guess most people who go to those stores would do the same cause you wouldn't want to see what they are buying too right? So happy I have a computer...

At first I did, but since the cashiers were female, I figured maybe there was that possibility that they liked guys with foot fetish and would like to have their feet worshipped. Never happened, but they got used to seeing me buy Leg Sex, Leg Tease, Leg Show and Barefoot Confidential the awkwardness disappeared.

I might not feel so weird buying it from a porn shop, but I have always bought my foot mags from the BOOKSTORE!

the first couple of time it was alittle weird but now when i go they have the latest issues waiting for me so its not theat bad anymore.

Seriously, seems it would only feel awkward when buying it at any place OTHER than a porn store. Heh, I wonder if that's why most Barnes and Noble stores keep their porn mags near the front entrance. [Big Grin] But IN a porn store? Everyone else is there for porn or a kink, too. Looking down on someone there would be like...chastising someone for robbing a bank when you just robbed a liquor store. So hold your head high as they ring up your Barefoot Confidentials or Toe Tales or Bare Foot Babes from Bangkok. [Cool]

We all have been there, but your anxiety becomes less of a hazard with repition. Now a porn store or strip club? That is a wonderland you can roam freely and let your guard down so to speak because everyone is there for the same experience. Got to love'em. Those places are so cool. [Cool]

First time I boughgt a Leg Show, I was kinda feelin awkward... then I realised I was in a type of store that promotes erotica of all types. So I said f*!k it (which I did), and now it's almost second nature... in fact, almost first nature now...
