Just checked out the amazing Miranda post in contributions, and it got me thinking. I've seen her credited as coed feet and shoekittens and maybe even another.
Also, Stephanie on a few sites, Mandy now that i think of it. Obviously, there's a shit load more.
What i want to know is...Are the models on a contract? Are they exclusive to a site/agency or are they free to chop and change?
I know nothing about the business side of things, so am quite interested to know what the go is.

I can speak for me and Miranda. It's not a case of contract or agency. She lives in my state, is a student and models for income. So we worked a bunch of times. She's gotten exposure, so other sites/photogs contact her. I can't prevent her from working with others, nor would i try. I'd be hesitant if she did a bunch of other foot sites, just because of over use.
I have also been contacted by lots of other girls who have done work for other foot sites. Some offer to shoot, some offer to send me pictures for a fee.
it's really just a case of these girls have been paid to model, so they figure might as well try to get as many others to pay them too.

I am not sure how to phrase all this. I just assume the foot fetish scene for models is smaller than the tits/ass scene, so i was kinda thinking it quite insular. Incestual, if you will. So, if say you have the hottest model that every one wants to see (and man, your site has a zillion of them!), do you get pissed if she does a particuarly special shoot for some one else?
The reason i really am asking, apart from general interest, is that, as i said, i'd assume the foot fetish modelling world isnt exactly huge. Sure, its largely amateur, but really special models are hard to come by.
Like any field, i'd imagine there can be some professional jealousy (IE: SHIT - why didnt i think of that theme!).

Pissed, it all depends really, mainly on if she works for a site in direct competition. Example, she did a shoot for a pantyhose site. Since that really isn't my forte/theme, i don't feel that could take customers away.
Basically, a random shoot for another site won't be a big deal. If a model became a regular, then i would probably stop working with them.
But it would be difficult for models to work with a lot of sites, since we all are so scattered through USA, the world even.

there are also cases of content producers. Again using Miranda. She goes to a day long shoot, for a lot of money. She gets in several outfits, gets naked and more. Now this studio in turn can sell those shoots to anybody. So she could look like she is working on many sites, but really it was just one shoot, for one studio.
This is how the adult industry does a lot of it. So many sites don't do their own shooting, they just buy from many studios/producers.
I have been contacted by these studios to produce foot content using bigger name stars. i prefer to do all the shooting, plus that would go against my theme.

I can't speak for all the other sites, but on Soles of Silk, most of the girls are personal friends of mine. But then I also try to shoot some of the well known girls, if you will, in my own "look" for my members and fans. Some of those models have been: Lexi of Lexi's Foot Fetish, Jacklyn Lick of Foot Goddess and lots of other sites/videos, Lisa Tyler who used to run Forever Feet and has appeared on some other foot sites that are popular as well and most recently, Layla Mercedes who has since made her own site Loving Soles and Molly, who some people are going to start seeing as Mia Haze in the adult business.
Lexi surprised me because of her running her own site that I didn't think she'd want to pose for another site who is sort of like hers in many ways, but she was awesome and I made a friend doing the shoot. We want to meet up again soon and take some more. But some of the girls use modeling sites and list what types of shoots they are willing to do. For example, some girls might be up for swimsuit, casual, runway modeling, etc. and wouldn't consider a fetish shoot. But some girls might list fetish work, which many times also consists of bondage work. It is really up to each girl what they want to do. I have had models who don't list those things come across my portfolio on those modeling sites and want to do my site because they don't see it as "fetish" work because of the fun and somewhat artsy nature of Soles of Silk.
Do I mind if a girl poses for me and other sites? Not at all. I don't look at everyone else as competition, even though in reality, they are. I guess it is because I don't look at Soles of Silk as a business, but rather an outlet to share my photography and love for female feet. And every girl who poses for me has the right to pose for whoever she wants. Would it be to my benefit if models like Kimmie and Kellie (the twins) stayed exclusive to me? Maybe. But then again, maybe not. After all, you realized what other sites the above mentioned girls posed for, so if you were a fan of hers, you will come anyhow.

patrick my friend you couldnt have said it better. while many look at each other as competition i dont when it comes to feet. the reason for me is because i know that many people who enjoy feet keep it quiet so i wanna be one of those that share the beauty with the rest of the rest of the just as you do too patrick. i can see the same with ben too. its just something we enjoy to doing. its our love and we are having fun doing it. i dont see anyone as comptetion and i never will. no matter how many sites come out and introduce new stuff i just look at it as more enjoyment for myself. i enjoy all of you guys websites and would never think anything negative of it. although there any many that are in it just to compete im not one them which is why my site is free.

Heehee... I tried the free site once, about 5-6 years ago, when I had The 10 Little Piggies. The site was so big that people killed me in bandwith and if I show off the photos I want them all up. So when I came back I knew I had to have the site pay for itself and that is all I seek. If it makes some extra cash, that is all well and good because before long a new camera or computer will be needed. So in all reality, it just goes back into itself.

Interesting thread, being relatively new to the webmaster scene, I have picked things up 'on the fly'. I must say that I have only had experience with the foot scene but the webmasters (certainly at Wu's) have all been VERY approachable and willing to help.
I was worried when joining this forum that not being a BHE hosted site, I would not be welcome - how wrong I was! EVERYONE has been really friendly
Regarding the models, I have a working relationship with barefootcamgirls.com where I have become really good friends with DJ the owner, we trade 'guest' sets etc every few months. No feelings of competition, just helping each other out.
When I arrange photoshoots, I ask for the models time for the day only, I can't really ask for an exclusive deal (unless I am willing to pay them a salary).

I would just like to say a big thanks to you guys for replying. It's not often you get an insight into the business, so to speak.
I'm also glad that you all seem pretty cool with each other. One thing i've noticed with us footsters, is how bloody nice we all are. There's very little bickering going on here, and the very 1st thing i noticed when i joined, was the interaction between just fans like me, and the makers and models.
It's also the only site i post pics of my wifes feet, though i am certainly not in the league of you fine folk.

The "business" for me is enjoyment. If I didn't have fun doing my art and hobby, I wouldn't be doing it.
You are right about the community too. So many of us are friendly here. Every so often we can spot a phony or someone who is more into the "business" side than the feet or photography aspects, but that is unavoidable when you have to mix the two to have a site.
And there is no league when it comes to sharing here on Wu's forum. I want to see amateur just as much as pro on here. One thing the amateur usually has over the pro... a girl into the lifestyle or doing it for fun. This is why I don't want to get so "perfect" with my photography. Just the let the girls, most of which are my friends in real life, smile and have a good time posing for all of you.

i enjoyed the thread. i know that if i ever get into the 'business' side of feet.. this is the place i'd come to to show off what i do. it's a lot of fun. i do keep that part of me under wraps a bit, but i've got tons of pics of friends who don't mind showing off what i like.. them in heels. as for just feet. that is a bit harder for me to get to.. more because i dont' try as hard.
anyway... glad to know it's a really a community deal. that is what i like about feet!!! it's a 'family' thing
