Well, I suppose I’ve been doing what I do for far too long, and no matter how carefully I plan any given shoot, it seems like unexpected events ten to be always around the corner. Take yesterday for example: I’ve been wanting to do a shoot with Casey and Marien for a long time because they’re both blonde with very tiny, soft and high arched feet. I really wanted to do an arch comparison video with them, and possibly some foot worship.
So I took the day off from my other work yesterday, just to shoot with those two. Marien lives very close to me now, so we decided to take the train together to the studio, while Casey drove up from Philly to meet with us. We all arrived more or less at the same time, and the idea was that I was to shoot the two of them together, and then Marien would leave, and I would continue with Casey because it was been a while since I worked with Casey, and wanted to get some pics of her alone.
Casey and I chatted while Marien went to the ladies room to apply her makeup, but she took so long that I just started shooting with just Casey. From time to time I would knock of the bathroom door and ask Marien if she was ready, and I always got the “I’ll be done soon” line, but before I knew it, almost an hour had passed, and still no Marien. At that point, my instincts told me that there was something wrong, so with Marien’s permission, I went to the rest room, only to find out that Marien had a big, ugly gash on her second toe. I immediately informed her that our shoot was out of the question and asked her why she hadn’t told me. She answered that she had cut her toe a few days before yesterday, and though she’d be healed by then. Of course, this being Marien, she didn’t bother to check it yesterday morning, and now she had taken a huge chunk of her day to travel to the studio with me, and not get paid. For some reason, this didn’t seem to bother her, but needless to say, I was less than pleased.
The day wasn’t a total loss because I got to shoot with Casey, who always bring her best to every session, and that’s why she’s so highly regarded by everyone she works with. Marien and I have a complex relationship, and there’s no doubt that I think very highly of her personally, but her lack of professionalism can sometimes be appalling. I always ask you guys what you personally think, but this time I won’t because at the end of the day, both models lived up to whatever preconceived notions of them that I have.

Really sorry to hear that Adam, I find that no matter how well you prepare yourself for the worst it doesn't stop it getting right under your skin when it happens! It's annoying because as you said Marien had travelled there already, and the sheer lack of professionalism from her is astounding! I wish I had a set formula that could avoid situations like this but as you said, best laid plans......

I would think that by now Marien would understand the rules of the game and come up to scratch. I guess people should be sometimes treated to match their behavior..
