I know there are many sub categories in comedy as some of the comedians may be funny to some but not to others.
I didn't grow up with the stooges as they wern't broadcasted over New Zealand TV whilst growing up, although they played alot of the classics my Old-man used to watch, re-runs of Laurel & Hardy, Marx Brothers and Charlie Chaplin.
There can be funny funny and stupid funny. I like stupid funny. I liked a movie called "Kung Pow - Enter The Fist", but a few friends of mine didn't dig it at all. Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXrAYdSeWY8
Can't wait as Three Stooges movie is comming out this week. I've been checkin' out a few clips online of the real stooges. A pie fight which I thought was a crack-up .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4-spBDcJyk
For those who are already Stooge fans, what do yous think of the trailer of the up comming movie? Are there any other scenes/episodes of past stooge material you thought were funny?

^^SLAPSICK! That's it. Just googled the term slapstick, didn't realise there was an actual word that defines it all. I've always tagged it as stupid-funny as way over exaggerated overkill comedy type action.
Being released in Cinemas this Thursday here in Australia.

I have loved the 3 Stooges since I was a wee child of maybe 4. However, I thought remaking them in a movie was a bad idea and I didn't see it. You need to watch the original shorts they did from the 1930's through the 1950's as the movie is not going to do them justice with all the present pop culture references and cameos by the famous for being famous lameos.
I'm a big Laurel and Hardy fan as well. They are slower paced compared to the stooges, but its all about the buildup to the final gag that makes me laugh out loud like a friggen mongoloid. My brother just bought the complete set of L&H shorts and movies on a big DVD collection and we plan on watching them probably in a big drunken stupor one day.
Chosen One: Killing is wrong. And bad. There should be a new, stronger word for killing. Like badwrong, or badong. Yes, killing is badong. From this moment, I will stand for the opposite of killing: gnodab.

^^ .... Liked their facials trying to eat the cake Great link. You advising against seeing the movie, you've sorta dropped my expectations on it which maybe be a good thing.

Can't quote Kung Pow word for word as only seen it three times and my movie memory recall ain't great.

i did actually see the 3 stooges movie and was pleasantly surprised. it's not going to match any true 3 stooges material, but it wasn't a huge disappointment.
