Wow, we're now close to the end! It's now just down to four ladies. The Double-Elimination format is still intact. This week, each Studio will have one match. That match will have the winner of last week's Elimination Match against the loser of last week's Qualification Match. Each woman has lost once in this round. The winner of each match will advance into the semi finals as the Supporting Starlet of her Studio with a 2-1 record. The loser will be eliminated for having lost a second time in the round. I've been think to myself, how would these women react if they knew about this contest?

That's a good question. I don't know how to answer it. I suppose they would be flattered, for starters.

Monroe and Fawcett are taking this week off. They are waiting to see which two girls will join them when in the semi-finals arrive next week. Each girl is on the brink of elimination this week. It becomes vital for each girl to get as many votes out of their supporters this week to secure a win and a spot into the next round.

I voted for Greta Garbo. I like her better than Bettie Page, but I did not think that when I clicked on the submit button that she would be THIS close to Page.
I don't think I'm believing what I'm witnessing here. Greta is actually doing better than what I think a lot of people would've expected out of her. Now, I'm pulling for Greta even harder. She has become quite an interesting story in this event.
What happened to Bettie Page?

It's amazing that Greta's keeping her match very close. I, too, am a bit surprised about how well she's doing up to this point. I would think that not a lot of people who know who she was. But, I voted for Bettie. I think Greta's luck is going to run out here.
Bettie Page is going to come through.
In other news, of COURSE Raquel Welch.

I have been following this contest very closely. It would be very special to have Greta Garbo make it into the semis. This is especially amazing when you consider that people know more about Bettie Page than they do with Greta. I, too, think Greta's streak will finally meet its end in this match. She has more sex appeal and is much more talked about than Greta will ever be. I think based on that, Bettie will get herself together and win her match. Greta is someone who I will like to know much, much more about because she seems like a class act.
I like Ann Margaret, but Raquel Welch will prove to be too much for her. I think it will be an explosive semi finals when Monore, Farrah, Raquel, and Page take center stage. That will be our dream Final Four and all we can do is just sit there and see how THAT unfolds.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote in this contest so far in where the National Femme Fashionistas revives the charm and appeal of the ladies who have left men and women mesmerized in generations past. It left men mesmerized because their ultimate dream come true would've been to be made famous for hooking up with the ladies who remain in the contest. In those days, the media was not as aggressive when it came to seeking to bring actresses down by airing embarrassing, dirty laundry about their private lives into the attention of the public, where the general population would then have a field day in dissecting every nook and cranny about their personal habits. People would be left to wonder as to what exactly happened between the two of you even more then than they would now because the spotlight was not as intrusive into actresses private comforts.
It left women mesmerized because they wanted to become as much loved and admired just like the ways these famous symbols were.

As they sit out for the week to prepare for the semi finals, I have some GREAT pictures of Monroe and a very charming video clip of Farrach Fawcett.
Here is a clip of Farrah Fawcett. Before her rise to fame, she appeared on the show The Dating Game where she had to choose one of three guys she would like to go on a date with.
Even though we don't get to see Farrah's feet, I **strongly** advise that you watch the whole clip. It gets very interesting at 4:30 into the clip after she picks her choice.
This really emphasizes precisely how BEAUTIFUL she was before she became a superstar. I never knew she looked that precious and innocent. Anyone watching this clip for the first time will truly be taken aback to how much of a doll she was.

I always love your choice of words and how you use them to try to instill the understanding that what these gave contributed throughout their careers priceless. Usually in your contest (whether it be this one or the original format where you use current day celebs), your posts are the ones I look most forward to because you provide hype and leave a lot of details that makes the Fashionistas the best franchise of celebrity contest. I know that you will try to pull out all the stops when the current-day celebrity game returns in Feb of next year.
But while we're here in the present day, I must say that those pictures of Monroe are AWESOME! Pictures of that quality bring is what makes the Fashionistas the contest of all foot celeb contests. Thank you SO much for providing these. My lord, what pictures. They're the best from Monroe that I've seen in my life.
And Farrah Fawcett looks so FLAWLESS in that clip. If that kind of Farrah made the semi's, then I would not want to be the girl facing her. That charm will win too many hearts. A girl will have to be super hot to beat that kind of Farrah. I don't think that kind of charm that Farrah displayed on that show works today, but back then, that cute personality would've worked quite well. In her prime she was still hot, but that clip won me over.
That clip made me laugh, though. I couldn't believe they orchestrated that beforehand.
Thanks for that clip and the pictures, National.

I agree with 18th Floor. Those pictures of Monroe was the best compilation I've seen from her. Her feet looks real good in those pictures. They look so straight and nice. And in some of the pictures, she's fully aware of how to appeal to men who are especially interested in feet.
I love them.
Let's not forget: These ladies flew with PanAm.

Now, I'm really looking forward to the semis. With the way you hyped up both Monroe and Fawcett (which was one of the more enjoyable and hilarious clips I've seen in a while, even though it wasn't foot fetish related) during their off week, really sets the tone for the type of great debate we'll have next week when they face the winners of THIS week's matches.
I did not have any idea that most of those pictures existed.
Thanks!
Oh, yeah.... Raquel does not look like she's playing any games. I think her fans were fuming after last week's loss and they are extracting painful revenge on poor, little 'ol Ann Margaret.
I will not be surprised if Bettie holds off Greta in her match against her. But it will be extremely interesting to see how Greta would do in the semis, IF she's lucky enough to get that far. But like someone said before: Bettie is too well known over someone like Greta that it will be extremely hard to imagine how Bettie would let this one slip through her fingers.
Anyway, Great pictures, National.

It looks like Raquel is well on her way into the semis, even though there are less than two hours to go. Bettie is in good shape to advance, but I will still watch that match to see how it comes to an end. Greta has been keeping things interesting her entire time in this contest, and I want to see if she can pull off this upset.
But those Monroe pictures are great. I bet Dougiezerts loves them as well. The first picture... OH MY GOD! Did you see how she posed in that picture? That is so inviting and seductive. And this picture ( http://images.celebscentral.net/images/celebrities/marilynmonroe/marilynmonroe_73669.jpg ) demonstrates the hidden message that only foot lovers can pick up on. With the shoes on the floor, stretching her feet after what must've been a hard day's worth of errands. It's just lovely.
These pics are lovely reminders of the times we never had the luck of living in.
And what about Fawcett. There was this one comment someone left on that youtube link. It said, "haha. a girl worth fighting for.. she's pretty!" That's correct. She is worth fighting for.

Dougiezerts and Myself would like to thank everyone who submitted their votes last week. I would also like to thank everyone who liked the Monroe pictures and the Farrah clip.
We are getting set for the Semi Finals that will be posted this Tuesday. We are now down to four women. Before we get to them, let us give thanks to the women who have just been eliminated from this contest.
Greta Garbo enjoyed her run in this game. This were looking great for her as she developed a bit of a following who were trying to get her to the next level of the Fashionistas. But going up against Bettie Page is a tall order to conquer for any woman to get by.
Why are we mesmerized just watching her on the screen - not just in the emotional or poignant scenes - but doing anything - slowly raising her eyes to look into the camera - glancing to the side in a haughty manner - looking lovingly into her leading man's eyes? Why do we think so highly of some of her movies when we know it is a mediocre story and would no doubt be forgotten had anyone else been in the lead? Why is her beauty unique and appealing? Why is it that she can be photographed from any angle, with any expression, with any style of dress or hair - and her beauty is no less remarkable? Why are photographs of her so much more than just a picture - they are more akin to works of art -- too other-worldly to be real?
To watch her face is like contemplating a masterwork - it becomes an experience that strikes both the heart and mind.
I know this is a foot contest, but the feature that has by far received the most attention when people talk about her is her eyes. They are haunting, sad, quizzical, languorous, melancholy, and omniscient. Her eyes were blue, but more accurately described by many others as an "unforgettable blue" indicating the uniqueness that belongs to every aspect about Garbo.
Garbo was an anomaly, not a mystery. She as something to be experienced rather than adored, but people did both.
Ann Margaret did very well in this contest, though she was not as talked about as any of the other ladies.
During her prime she was top-chick with class. A sexy broad who was nice. Not offensive, or vulgar, but cutely sexy, fresh and very charming.
We definitely enjoyed her company and it was a pleasure thinking about her once more.
----
Now we move into the semi's. Down to four women who will make the competition twice as interesting. They are (in alphabetical order)
Bettie Page Farrah Fawcett Marilyn Monroe Raquel Welch
Ladies and Gentlemen, when it comes to women who were very famous before 1980, this is what dreams are made of when you're trying to assemble your favorite Starlets of the past. If these four women are not the ideal of a Semi Finals Showdown, then I don't know what planet you have been living on.
For now, I'll only show pictures of one of the women advancing into the semis to join Monroe and Fawcett.
Bettie Page -- **Only the last picture shows her feet**
Let's not forget about Raquel. She went back to her dominating ways and just made the competition look easy. Welch and her supporters seem poised and extremely serious about having this contest belong to her. It will be real interesting to see how she will fare against the other women who will also be in the semis.
----
The Semis will be on Tuesday and when these women face off, then will get very interesting when it's up to the voters to decide who is a step better than the other.
